Ursula's Homestead

This a wonderful place to finish off our holiday to Botswana. It was tranquil and great place to sit by a beautiful pool and under an umbrella watching giraffes, elephants, impala wandering across the area in front of the hotel. The waterhole in October did not have much water in it to attract too many animals. The rooms were very spacious and clean with A/ c (what a treat !!) Breakfasts were delicious , also lunch and dinner ( but a limited menu ) We had a lovely meal at the Livingston hotel up the road which Ursulas arranged transport to. They also arranged for transport (for a fee) to the entrance of Victoria Falls , who came back at a specified time to take us back. Victoria Falls were still amazing even though it didn’t have an enormous amount of water flowing over

Stayed here for four nights . I can honestly say it was one of the best experiences I have had on a holiday. Millie, Lorraine and all the staff were so welcoming and made us feel like royalty. Our accommodation was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed for our stay. Millie gave us information and helped to book excursions in the locality. The breakfast was delicious each morning and dinner in the evening was a delight and everything served with a smile. We saw a large array of animals at the watering hole every day. Honestly it was bliss . I’ll miss this place a lot and would have no hesitation recommending it to anyone .

We had an incredible experience staying at Ursula's Lodge! It is a really special place and unlike anywhere we have stayed before. The grounds are kept immaculate and the staff work hard to maintain the beautiful surroundings. Without a doubt, the watering hole is one of the main highlights, which is very close to the accommodation. We saw zebras, impala, baboons and giraffes coming down the watering hole for a drink everyday. One member of our party even saw a rhino in the early hours of the morning! The staff are all very friendly and professional and we were really well looked after during out stay. The food served at Urusula's Lodge is great, with the Eggs Benedict with mushrooms and the Beef Fillet being particular highlights of ours. The rooms are kept very clean and the beds are huge! We booked a few activities through the hotel, including the Afternoon Game Drive and the Morning Walking safaris. These are truly once in a lifetime experiences and we couldn't recommend them enough. Our safari guide Africa was brilliant! He was friendly, funny and very knowledgeable about the animals and plants we saw on our safaris. We saw 4 of The Big 5 on our afternoon game drive - lions, buffalos, rhinos and a leopard! We also saw lots of giraffes, zebras and 2 hyenas. Spotting the different animal tracks on the morning safari and tracking a giraffe on foot was an exciting highlight! Some of our party enjoyed the morning safari so much that they booked a second one later in the week. Thank you to all of the staff for making the stay so memorable, we were really sad to leave! ❤️

If you want to stay in simple, quiet and affordable accommodation overlooking a plain with a waterhole on the edge of the Victoria Falls private game reserve, this is perfect. There are just 4 detached rondavels along with a swimming pool, dining area and lots of seating areas to watch the wildlife. We watched giraffes, antelopes of many varieties, zebras and troops of baboons every day. The wildlife was prolific. They provide a transfer service into Vic Falls and for any activities you book and, will also book everything for you and work out an itinerary which allows time to relax too. Do book enough days to do everything and be able to also enjoy the peace. We were very, very well looked after here. You can also take advantage of the posh lodge adjoining and they will shuttle you there and back. We had a roadblock of elephants one evening meandering along the approach road. The safari vehicles also pick you up straight from Ursula’s for evening game drives which are excellent. We saw game on several reserves and countries in Southern Africa and the rangers and animal variety here were the best. We even saw a leopard and genet, lions and cubs. Ursula’s needs a refurb but will no doubt be swallowed up by Stanley & Livingstone at that point, so book it while you can. Thank you all for looking after us so well. Sending love x

Beautiful, peaceful, relaxing. Lovely staff, accommodation and view from gardens was exceptional. It would be easy to spend an afternoon just looking over the wall at the reserve and visiting wildlife. Downside was that a twin room was booked but we were shown a double room. I was travelling with a friend, resolved quickly but was awkward for a while. This had happened at previous camps so the travel agent should take greater care. I had double checked with them at the previous camp, where the same thing had happened, they assured me a twin room was booked. But the staff at Ursula worked quickly to rectify the issue and I can find no fault with anything else. I would go back again, maybe for a week of complete chilling!

What a lovely oasis right on the edge of a private game reserve with a water hole in front of the lodges where so many animals came to drink incl the black rhino. Food was excellent too. Its was relaxing and peaceful after the grind of early morning safaris. Close to all the Victoria Falls' activities
