Hotel Matina

The feeling of coming home, the hotel is run by a mother and two daughters, they are always there for you and you can ask them anything, a clean, tidy hotel close to delicious local eateries by the sea. Quiet place to recover from all the hustle and bustle, the peace and quiet we need. Hotel also has the kind of guests who come for their rest. They all speak English

My wife, my son and I stayed here one week on a self-catering basis. Our room on the second floor overlooked the pool and it was ample for our needs. It never got noisy in our room, there were shutters on the windows to keep the room dark when required and the airco worked fine. The family running the place was friendly. Several good restaurants were all within walking distance. So far, that's all the good points. On a less positive side, we read that several visitors were disappointed by the meagre breakfast served (but still put up with it) whereas we found a bakery 200 metres away that offered good and filling alternatives cheaply. The opening times of the pool were restrictive. Returning from an excursion after 7 p.m., for example, you were never able to swim because the pool was cordoned off. It was sometimes unclear whether ordering anything from the pool bar was possible or whether it was inconvenient. The shower curtain in our room was so short that it didn't reach the shower basin. Each shower therefore spattered so much water that the shower mat and bathroom floor would get drenched every time. To finish on a friendlier note, we enjoyed the diversity of the restaurants in Irion and the quality of food was excellent. Not having a car, we took the local bus to Pythagorio and Samos city, although the times that the bus ran were a bit odd. One excursion we would definitely recommend is the boat trip with captain Antonis (who caters for a smaller group) rather than the large-group BBQ alternatives.

Wir sind zum 8. mal im Hotel Matina und wieder rundum zufrieden: * super sauberes und gemütliches Zimmer *Frühstücksbuffet ausreichend, gefrühstückt wird auf der Veranda oder am Pool *traumhafte Lage in Ireon 100m zum Strand und 100m zu den Restaurants, direkt am Wasser Ein rundum Sorglos-Hotel mit herzlicher Groẞfamilie, die auch immer einen wertvollen Tipp haben Wir waren schon viel in Griechenland und auf der Welt unterwegs, Hotel Matina ist ein „Muss“ für uns, viele Jahre mit Tochter und nun als Paar❣️ K&R

mooi hotel met hele vriendelijke mensen, centraal gelegen vlak bij alle voorzieningen en dichtbij strand, goed ontbijt, en zwembad me gratis ligstoelen, ruime kamers met tv, weinig minpunten te ontdekken. tot volgend jaar, rudi en els, room 33.

Erg fijn, kleinschalig familiehotel. Prima ontbijt, huisgemaakt brood wat je kon roosteren. Brandschone kamer, moderne badkamer met douchegordijn (en verstelbare douchestang), ruime kamer en balkon, goede airco. Ook fijne bedden en schoonmaak. Lieve familie, staan voor je klaar. In augustus ook best wat kinderen, gezellige sfeer aan het zwembad. Vlakbij het strand en goede restaurants. Wij komen zeker terug, een aanrader!

Voor wie niet zoekt naar een groot onpersoonlijk resort, doch een klein huiselijk gezellig hotel..behulpzame, super vriendelijke familie, heel netjes, je bent er welkom en komt niks tekort ! Goede ligging op korte wandelafstand van toffe restaurantjes letterlijk " aan of op" zee
