Occidental Jandia Royal Level - Adults Only

Very welcoming reception from Márton with a glass of bubbly who explained how all the service works and hotel map etc. and all the staff throughout were friendly, polite and very helpful. Rooms are of a high standard with great views across the beach and free WiFi. As this was a celebration for my husband's birthday, we had a bottle of fizz in room not only on his birthday but also on initial check into room. Food is very tasty with a choice of buffet or themed A La Carte restaurant. Food selection is limited, but enough variety to enjoy each meal service with excellent wine choices for lunch and dinner. Spending time relaxing around the private pools and many terraces. We spent every night in the green bar and were looked after so well from Antonio and Aneta, both provided us excellent service. Antonio helped us learn so much spanish, and both remembered my husband's birthday and brough a cake with a candle and sang happy birthday, what a credit to your hotel these 2 members are. Weather in January is constant, and evening temperatures are pleasant. What a great way to spend my husbands birthday around a dedicated team of staff and management who made every effort to make sure our stay is perfect. Thank you. Would highly recommend a visit, and we will definitely be returning next year for his birthday.

Second time staying here, I've had a multitude of stays within the Barcelo/Occidental brand, it felt a little below par from expectations in a number of areas. Upon arrival at the Royal Reception we were greeted with an empty desk. No staff member, no sign to say what to do. Eventually someone friendly did come over from the main reception and greeted us warmly with a much appreciated welcome drink. We could have gone to the main complex reception to check in, but there was a long queue and... Why should we? If we have booked the premium hotel? The room we had has definitely been refurbished since my last visit. Modern and minimalistic furniture but that is exactly what it needs. The only main problem with the room was the AC - it was very poor. Did not cool the room down at all, and even after reporting it, still was not fixed. Whether this is cost cutting by the hotel or the "environmental laws" coming in to play, it made it very difficult to sleep at night when you are used to a cooler climate. The WiFi did not work at all, for the entire time we were there. Other guests were complaining about this, we just used mobile data but not everyone has that choice when away from home. Food in the Atlantico restaurant was fantastic, really really tasty and usually a very good selection! Unfortunately the food was never hot, unless cooked to order. When it was cooked to order, only once during the entire week was I asked how I would like it cooking (if applicable to that meat). Food is presented in porcelain dishes under lamps but it certainly is not effective enough to keep it hot. Then when the (quite small) porcelain dishes become empty, it took a very long time for them to be replenished. We didn't try the A la Carte restaurant as we are quite picky eaters and prefer to choose our own food but the menus did have plentiful choice and changed every night. The biggest concern here was the labelling - nearly all of the food was either labelled incorrectly, or not at all! This was a mild inconvenience to us but is a massive concern in an age where dietary requirements and diet choices are so diverse. Needs to be better! BBQ Event - don't waste your time. We originally went to book the BBQ event on Saturday and were told it was just fish. That wasn't our expectation or preference so we waited for the Wednesday night, which was a special occasion for us and also our last night. Unfortunately it left a sour taste in our mouths on our last evening. We were expecting a "BBQ" event - we were actually met with the same food that is offered on the buffet, on a smaller scale, and with two types of steak available for grilling fresh. No other meats, skewers, or even grilled vegetables. Chef did not ask how we wanted our steak cooked. None of the food apart from the steaks was hot, the lighting was poor so we could hardly see our food, and whilst waiting for our steak we were cut in front of TWICE by other guests who had ordered after us. Currently staying at this hotel . Those intending to book need to be aware that WIFI connection is abysmal. Hotel advertises free WiFi what it doesn't say is that you can never get on. We are staying in so called VIP adults section and have reported it 3 times to different members of staff who all pretend to be surprised that there are problems but all have taken our room number and promised to look into it but nothing has been done. We know from talking to other guests that it is not just us. Also reported poor TV signal we cannot get uk channels, again nothing done. If you need WiFi whilst you are on holiday then don't come to this hotel

Our first visit to Fuerteventura. We chose this hotel, adults only and all inclusive for a relaxing break away, and we weren't disappointed. Lovely greeting from Wilson on checking in, the resort explained and directions given. The room was a good size, balcony overlooking the jacuzzi pool, and on to the sea. Clean white linen, sheets and towels, and a HUGE walk in shower, well maintained in the en suite. Dressing gown and slippers provided. Good selection of food at breakfast, lunch and dinner, plenty of variety, lots of fruit. A choice of continental breakfast goods, pastries, and cooked options, eggs cooked to your preference. Attentive staff - Sonia appears to live and work at 100 miles an hour, always with a smile. The bar available during the day, serving the poolside, served great cocktails. Nickola made the best strawberry daiquiri! Would thoroughly recommend this hotel if you want some R+R.

Room’s tired and needs an update.problems with wi-fi and electricity constantly failing.having said that it was clean and the bed was comfortable.food was good and all staff were very pleasant.entertainment was poor.no tea or coffee making facilities included in room.

We are leaving this gem of a hotel this morning this is mine and my wife's second stay and gotta say we just love this place so relaxing and clean top to bottom the all inclusive is amazing all drinks cocktails are fab and the private pools and jacuzzi is lovely and also food is beautiful lots of selection and lovely snacks like pizza chips toasties and other things throughout the day exactly what is needed for a relaxing break thank you for a lovely stay again and will be back for more in September next year thanks again and also like to mention all staff around hotel are extremely friendly and helpful

Royal level so beneficial. Exclusive no children. Bespoke service and areas. Really suited us as retired couple. The hotel needs a bit of modernisation and otel rooms maintenance decoration - not a big deal but would raise the facility standard.

Not what we expected.staying in royal level.food poor.seem to cater for Europeans.some days my wife had chips.on our second to last day weren't aware a large buffet room in the family orientated side.which we tried and pleasantly pleased with the overall food.sadly amongst children which we didn't want.just a peaceful lunch.we weren't told about this restaurant.when we arrived.sadly missed out.our rooms kept clean.the royal level pool area peaceful.overall the royal level food let us down.sadly won't be returning.cant see where the 4 star comes from.
