The place was in a good location . The staff were friendly and very helpful.There’s a restaurant and a bar downstairs

the room itself was alright, not bad for the price. the staff were nice; they let me pick between 2 vacant rooms. i picked the one “with hot water”, however, there was barely any running water in the shower. other than that, i enjoyed my stay. there’s also a nice restaurant just outside of the hotel where we had dinner.

I really enjoyed my visit. I travelled with a small dog, and they were very welcoming, to both me and my dog. It was refreshing to be in a place that was pet friendly, many many fun nights with staff who were open to playing fetch with my highly energetic dog! Lots of space for him to play and walk without disturbing other guests. My DOG was happy and content which made my stay very relaxing and enjoyable. I LOVE African Tribe Hotel. I Will definitely be back and I highly recommend to travelers with or without pets. the hotel offers a nice balance between comfort and quality while never lacking in either regard. 5 stars

reception staff are totally unprofessional. They do not respect the hotel's customers. The hotel room I had already booked and paid for online was given to someone else and I was forced to stay in another room. Moreover, the hotel management is not willing to take any corrective action when the hotel staff are carelessly and irresponsibly messing around the guest rooms and disturbing the comfort of the guests. What surprised and angered me the most was that the hotel staff entered my room without my knowledge and permission. That place is a disaster for me

😡😡😡😡😡😡I found this hotel online because I wanted to something close to me I went there I paid a room for 80,000 thy took me to the room just to enter I was welcomed by insects eating the leftovers I asked to change, thy took me to another one to reach thy it was more terrible thy was no window then I asked manager to upgrade to the high quality room which was 150,000 for what I found in the room coasting 60 dollars check the picture down here ……..😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡 there was no service calling PHONE for any assistance I had to use my mobile to call on personal phone at the reception the manager was unexperienced thy was a lot of noise in the morning 7am DONT EVEN TRY IT BECAUSE THY DNT CARE if your a lady thy is no way you can take a shower without wet your hairs

Clean room and excellent customer care

I previously reviewed the Tribe and was less than complimentary. I returned to the hotel in January 2022, because it is in a good location, the new manager promised a change and a complimentary night's stay, and partly out of curiosity. I was pleased to see the restaurant had improved considerably, a generator had been installed, and the internet was much improved, so far, so good. The local staff were, as before, friendly and did their best to provide a service.  Unfortunately, the rooms while clean were in a similar state of slight disrepair. TV programming was lacking and the shower screen in my own was broken, despite having twice cut myself, nothing was done. And the promise of a complimentary stay ? That was withdrawn or conveniently forgotten. Nevertheless, at $20-30 it is very fair. More than that, look elsewhere. NB. At the time of my stay, the hotel was not accepting credit cards, and unless you are on the tightest of budgets, don't opt for a 'budget room." They are small, run-down, and noisy. Spend a couple of dollars more and ask for the second or third floor. 

First impression..this needs a refurb and a deep clean, and things only went downhill from there. Internet in room was very weak and intermittent tho OK in lobby/gardens The generator was 'under repair' so I was left in dark unable to see or work during frequent power cuts The AC in my room was taken 'for repairs' tho it was working fine and never reappeared over my two week stay, no apology no explanation. A hole in the wall provided the ventilation and a mosquito highway. No hot water & no hot shower tho I did receive an electric shock from shower which did not bother the management at all. As the management declined to pay the subscription there was no TV for 10 days of my stay. Menu items frequently unavailable many others just 'out of stock' so suspect food frozen not cooked fresh. On one day there was no drinking water in the hotel and on another no coffee..no coffee in Uganda? Twice spotted what looked like rat droppings in my room. As reception locked the front doors after 10pm accessing my room meant claiming an unlit spiral fire escape. The friendly, frustrated local staff tried their very best but they were hobbled by an incompetent uncaring management team with zero sense customer service and a total focus on money. The location is fair and the hotel is set in gardens that could be nice if maintained. I paid $40 a night for a double. There is better available for less I was told new management team is to take over and things will improve but the owner who was valiantly trying to right the many wrongs has an uphill struggle.
