The Everest Hotel

Nice Old Hotel, Great Staff with few needs to improve. Swimming pool is totally disappointment. Better to shut down, than keep running and not swimmable, waist of energy. The water is dirty, no star at all. The lobby, the room and Ghurka bar are still great. 2 power shutdowns in 1 day, I believe they are struggling with power shortages due to dark lounges. Breakfast was so so, coffee or tea should be not a challenge to serve first, sometimes took half of meal before they come. Many Tables are not stable and aligned, egg can easily roll over to other side. Atleast 3 tables on my experience. Room is comfortable, nice bed and always fresh linen. Only noisy from AC , maintenance team came twice on my room to fix, though transfer was offered on my last 2 days. Managers should not standing in buffet line, either they should help the line staffs or directing the team, talking business in public is not of our guests concern. Front desk Trainee, has good presence, I thought first he is manager. A lot can be improved and polished, the hotel has a great potential, nice design, great facilities and great staffs. I wish that management should look all themselves and review those small details.

Breakfast was delicious and coffee great. Lovely service and smile by Radhika. All the staff were lovely and very helpful. Would recommend.

Lovely stay with family, great experience, friendly staff, warm welcome from reception staff, nothing ever seemed to be an issue. The cafe staff especially Radhika, Pramod and Yashoda - super friendly, warm and caring. Would recommend. Cold swimming pool but very quiet we had it all to ourselves.

We stayed in the Everest Hotel, Kathmandu. The hotel was elegant, with pleasant staff. The food was excellent. The front desk clerks and the cafe staff were very helpful and courteous. The bar tender, Mr Ganesh, was very friendly and made excellent drinks explaining the story behind each of the classical drinks of Nepal. The rooms were spacious with good amenities. It was less expensive and a great place to stay. We will stay here again and recommend to anyone visiting Kathmandu.

Santina highly recommended the Gyakok for dinner. This meal arrived in sizzling hotpot. It was visually mesmerising, delicious and a lot of fun to eat. This is a traditional Tibetan meal and a must to try as part of your Nepalese travels. Our meal was cooked by Chef Shiva Ram and served by Jagdish. The hospitality of this restaurant is world class.
