Malika Khiva Hotel

Malika Khevaek was the only hotel inside Khiva’s walled city – what a fantastic location! Everything was within a hundred meter reach! Everyone else had to enter the walled city gates every day to see the sites. The hotel operated a covered outdoor restaurant, one of the most picturesque eating places in the walled city. Breakfast food was quite limited. But dinner was very good. It was obviously a family run affair. The small informal lobby led to the courtyard. Around the courtyard were two floors of guest rooms; clearly, this had once been a rich merchant’s villa. The walls are nicely decorated with desert-caravan-bazaar scenes. We found it odd that there was no trash can in the room. The phone didn’t work so my wife had to keep going down to talk to the front desk. The rooms had tea sachets and cups, though we had to ask for a hot water kettle. Breakfast wasn’t impressive at all.

Dit hotel ligt echt op een toplocatie, fantastisch tegenover de toegangspoort van de oude stad. Het heeft een leuke inrichting. De kamers zijn netjes. De bedden zijn behoorlijk. Sanitair kon het niet aan. Door de locatie toch wel heel leuk.
