Rivertrees Country Inn

My third visit to Rivertrees. I love this place for the traditional charm of Africa. Rooms are large, great showers, big beds. All staff are very friendly and helpful. The beautiful garden is well maintained with monkeys visiting. It is a great place to stay to start your safari.

I think Rivertrees achieved the goal of making you feel you are in touch with nature. The grounds are extensive and you can actually do a one Mile loop around the beautifully landscaped grounds and river banks. The food is great, and the service attentive and friendly. They let us eat ala carte when we were full and tired and did not want the full menu. We had pizza!!! It was wood fired and good. Instead of isolating tourists from the community, the resort welcomes local residents to the pool( paid access) and offer a movie night. Our room was massive with a shower and a bath.

A beautiful lodge that allows you to enjoy the tranquility of nature! Great service and an ideal location to enjoy all that Arusha has to offer. Multiple tour offerings that allow you to enjoy the area. The meals and bar services were delicious!

Fabulous place to stay.Bery calm and relaxing.The grounds are lovely to walk around and take in the river walk.Each cottage is amazing with your own private area for sitting outside.Plenty of space between each cottage.The rooms are beautiful and the bed is great.Wifi worked well.Food is also Definitely worth a Special mention to the 2 ladies in the spa.Excellent service and very professional.

The place is more than just an inn. The property used to be a coffee plantation and there are trees and different kinds of flora and monkeys on the property. Food is outstanding. The rooms are in individual cabins and are spacious and are sprayed with mosquito repellent every evening while you’re at dinner. The bed is enclosed in a mosquito net. There is a stone bathtub and a separate shower. A flashlight is provided in the room for walking from your room to the dining area when it gets dark. It can be a challenge to find your room at night in the maze of cabins. Very friendly and efficient staff. I would definitely go back to this place. A perfect place to start and end your safari. Loved this place!

If you are arriving at the Arusha or Kilimanjaro Airports, this is a great first place to land. The individual and paired cottages sprinkled through ten acres made for a luxurious and quiet rest. Plan on a 30-45 minute drive from Kilimanjaro airport. With a rushing creek and path, Tall trees, and monkeys to greet you, you feel you have arrived in Africa. The food was delicious, with a wood fired oven for pizzas and breads. The breakfast buffet was delightful as well. Well worth the price, and I will plan on staying again when my family returns next year.

Beautiful setting , nice cottages , nice river walk, and the food , especially breakfast, is outstanding. Suggest food bug spray since a fair amount of bugs . Also suggest spend 1-2 days here either before or after safari to tarangire , Serengeti , etc.

My husband and I stayed here just one night but found it to be quiet lovely, especially after a long flight from the U.S. Both the room and the bathroom were very nice and spacious. The grounds of the hotel were quite delightful. We spent some time just wandering around and I still don't think we got to see it all. Our room was located near the river walk. We also visited the vegetable garden. Throughout the grounds there are QR codes where you can learn about different plants or the stingless bees. We caught some monkeys jumping around the trees and made friends with the hotel cat. The staff was very accommodating. They not only let us make some changes to the evening menu, they also allowed my husband to buy one of the nice wooden doorstops in the rooms (don't ask why but he just wanted it) for a very reasonable price. This was the perfect stop after a long flight -- it felt very secluded and the hot water/nice bed made for a relaxing evening. Not only would we stay here again, but I wouldn't mind spending a few extra days next time.

It was a great time! The food and environment were amazing, and there was solid Wi-Fi except for the rooms. The employees were very helpful. The bathrooms and bedrooms were very nice, with hot, running water. The beds were comfy and didn’t have bugs.
