Bilit Rainforest Lodge

There is plenty of authentic food served for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We spent two nights here at the lodge as part of a Trip A Deal Tour. However, the lodge is in need of some TLC. Staff are all friendly. Personally I would not recommend staying at the lodge.

A wonderful 2 nights in the midst of the rainforest with 4 brilliant river cruises on which we saw all of the Kinabatangan Big 5 plus many others - such a treat. How the guides spotted some of the wildlife is incredible. If you want to be off the grid and experience the wildlife, I thoroughly recommend this lodge. The staff are all very friendly, the buffet food is tasty and plentiful, the rooms are huge and have air conditioning and plentiful hot water. The Lodge rents out good binoculars, cheaply. The bar takes cards, but you need cash to pay your room tax, to hire binoculars, and for any additional cruises. Note, other than the air con and hot water, the accommodation is pretty basic, but you wouldn't expect anything else in such a remote location.

Loved staying here - right up my street! Amazing place with amazing staff. Wish I could stay longer than 2 nights - think 4 would have been better. Loved the rooms and river safari’s and slept so well with the jungle noises surrounding the lodges.

Not sure what I was expecting but this accomodation surprised me. Large cabin and comfortable bedding and air-conditioning. To access a short boat ride is required, as you arrive at the dock a boardwalk leads you to the communal dining and bar area. The boardwalk then leads to the lodge cabins at the rear where you are surrounded by forest and wildlife. If you want TV forget it this property is basically off grid and access to wi-fi can be purchased. But you don't need these things as you can spend leisurely trips on the river spotting bird and animal life in their natural setting.

An unforgettable wildlife experience I visited Bilit lodge alone as part of a longer trip in Borneo. The lodge is set right on the river and I was able to enjoy day and night rides to see a plethora of wildlife with an expert guide, Azman who knew all the best spots and had a wealth of experience. My lodge was beautiful with great air conditioning - a blessing amidst the humidity. Food is served communally and was local and delicious. Visits to the Sepilok orangutan rehab Centre, Sun Bear sanctuary & a canopy walk were also included. I loved this trip so much that I’m already saving to come back.

This place was excellent! The room was big, bed was comfortable, and lovely watching the Macaques from rear balcony swimming! Staff were lovely, as was all the food, such a variety. We did several river cruises from here, with knowledgeable guides. Just magical
