Aphea Village

A hidden gem in Kolymvari. Wonderful view from the pool over Kolymvari and the rest of the Chania Prefecture. We had a very tastful homemade cheeseburger for lunch. Prices are very good. The people working there, Ioanna and Kostas, do their best to make you feel at home (and we don’t even rent a room there). We’ll be back again for sure!

The appartment was quite OK, but the bathroom really needs renovation. The shower space very small and the curtain doesn't help - the water always goes on the floor. However, we had a nice balcony with a nice view to the sea and the swimming pool.

I really expected to be 3 stars hotel, but I rate better: we actually had an apartment not just a room, in a very good price, the cleaning team was working daily, the food at restaurant it is perfect, everyone should try the local food. The view from the balcony is astonished. If I will go again in Kolymbari, I will choose Aphea again.

Absolutely beautiful little hotel with great views and very fairly priced. Hosts at the bar made us dinner at 11:30pm (we had a late check in which was also no problem) the first day and were very accommodating. Would absolutely recommend to stay here :)

Basic modern apartment, very clean and plenty clean sheets and towels. So peaceful at night, never slept so well. Nice pool with gorgeous views and snacks and drinks available. Short walk to the beach with half a dozen restaurants where the meals are enormous! The manager has a eye for detail and makes sure everything is ok.Nice coastal walks also and village atmosphere to resort. Not suitable for anybody with mobility issues but apart from that absolutely fabulous

The place is really nice but there’s a very big lack of care in the rooms and they look old and in a mess. The pool it’s amazing and the water really warm. It’s a shame because this place could be a wonderful spot to spend some days.

Just back from an excellent stay at Aphea Village. The hotel overlooks the sea and town of Kolymbari and the pool area allows you to relax and enjoy this wonderful view. The pool was spotlessly clean and the pool bar was very handy for snacks and cocktails. The accommodation was clean, light and spacious. We had a balcony with a sea view which was perfect for enjoying a glass of wine on. The staff were very friendly particularly the hotel manager Dimitris who helped us with anything we needed. The beach was not crowded and only a short walk away and there were many restaurants there to enjoy. Thank you to all at Aphea for a fantastic holiday- we hope to return!

The beginning of the trip told us exactly what was to be expected from our stay. We unfortunately arrived a lot later than expected and the reception was closed. However, staff had left us a note on the door letting us know that they had left the key for us, with a map to our room. We went straight up to our room and enjoyed a beautiful view from the balcony. The next morning we went down to the pool to ask how we can check in, the member of staff behind the bar informed us that the manager would be arriving after 10 and sat us down for breakfast, which was the usual pastries, bread, spreads, cheeses, meats, coffee and juices, which was a great start to the day, every day. We waited until 10 and met the manager (I believe), who was genuinely one of the friendliest men I have ever met, he instantly made us feel welcome. Every time we passed a member of staff, they also welcomed and greeted us, usually stopping to chat. At the end of the stay, the manager also allowed us to stay in the hotel room a couple of hours after check out, due to our flight time being rather late. For the price of the stay, I cannot give a single complaint, and I would be more than happy to stay again. Very good location, despite the steep hill, everything is very close. Chania is a very cheap bus journey away, don’t pay for transfers, as the bus is only about €3 each way.
