Rann Utsav - the Tent City

The tent city provides an experience of the Rann of Kutch in an extraordinary manner. * We checked into the Rajwadi tent. Although it is exorbitantly priced, the experience is worth every ruppee. The tent is opulently luxurious. * They provide transport to the Rann for the sunset view. * The food is delicious, and local Gujarati cuisine is promoted, which was palatable and flavorsome. * There are many shops in the tent city selling handicrafts, and one can shop for clothes, trinkets, and souvenirs. We also enjoyed activities like archery, zip lining, yoga, etc. * The cultural program in the evening was also engaging. A memorable trip indeed!!

you have to experience the wonderful stay in tent city.it is different.we opted for one night package.arrangements for stay,food are well taken care of.they will take you for sunset view.we were there a day before full moon day.the moonlit white desert is wonderful to watch. electric vehicles are available for going around in tent city.once inside tent city you dont feel you in are in a desert.everything is well organised.staff are well trained to make you feel comfortable.

It was a wonderful experience. Living in a tent was a new experience for us. All the furniture was portable but sturdy. The floor was carpeted or covered, be it the floor of the tent rooms or of the whole tent cluster hence there was no dust. I can say with confidence that I have not seen such courteous and helping staff in a long time. The tent city is in a huge area (with groups of tents in clusters). Each cluster had a cluster manager who was available for any need on a phone call. Battery carts were available to commute within the tent city. Tasty vegetarian breakfast, high tea and meals was served in huge dining halls. A shopping area was also within the tent city with the whole spectrum of local arts, crafts and clothing available and at reasonable prices. The management of day tours was exceptional. For every busload of us their was a tour manager who took complete charge and responsibility of our information and wellbeing. All in all I was impressed.

700 tents and a massive massive place. Frankly the stay at Dholavira was much more peaceful than here. That said the tents are maintained neat. Dining area is massive ... one might need to bank on the shuttles for drops given the distances between tents and dining/shopping areas. Aim to shop at the Pithoo market (gate 2) than shopping within the tent city. Food is good read greasy .. however they weren't too forthcoming with customisations for dietary requirements. The choices for vegans was quite decent. We checked out very early and they gave us a ow med breakfast the previous night. The loader etc however wasn’t available !

what a beautiful experience. We had booked a premium hut through an agent and though expensive as it was the full moon period boy! it was paisa vasool. As we walked in the energy of the place was so good. it looked so pretty with walls made of ajrakh printed cloth sheets. the tent was so comfortable with all good things, the bath had good quality toiletries. and sitting area outside. all the dinning was happening in assigned dining halls which were huge and the food spread was very good. the shopping area was joyful and gregarious. the decor of the place was really positive and vibrant. the visit to the white rann for sunset and then the view at full moon was truly awe inspiring. expecting a sandy desert it was interesting to see the crusty white salt deposit which makes it the white run,and in full moon the sheer white reflected from the ground was so beautiful. and the people on the staff list were so helpful arranging for golf cart or an auto to take you from one place to another . All in all a must visit place.

Woke up to this sunrise at Rann utsav the tent city. It was truly a celebration at the Rann of Kutch. There were a lot of props at entrance only. The reception was so huge. The baggis took us to our rooms. There were beautiful tents for the stay with all the amenities and a clean washroom. Had fully vegetarian breakfast, lunch and dinner at their huge dining hall. The place was truly photogenic. With a lot of props present. I clicked a lot of photos there. Then there were a lot of shops for shopping. As well as stalls of local artisans. There was a lot of variety there. As the day came to an end. Their props welcomed us to the cultural events. The cultural event was more grandeur with magic show, singing, unique shows by locals, puppet show etc. There were alot of props which looked nice in night only with the lighting. Then comes the born fire with live singing to make us relaxed. Signing of with last trip of 2024 which was truly memorable.
