Chambre d'hôtes Au Jardin de la Bachellerie

This was a return trip to the Dordogne/ Perigord area, our first time at La Bachellerie. From the moment we arrived Raphael and Valerie made us feel very welcomed. The buildings and grounds have been beautifully restored and updated to create a wonderful space, including a fabulous pool. Our room was delightful, furnished in a very personal manner that added to the sense of welcome. The bathroom facilities were thoughtfully designed and finished to a high standard, with a separate WC. Breakfasts were freshly prepared and excellent, using local produce including "happy eggs" from Valerie's happy hens, Raphael's fresh pancakes and coffee, and wonderful jams from the kitchen, all served on the terrace, or inside if the weather demanded it. We were fortunate to sample more of Valeries tasty home cooking at dinner time, a delight! Our hosts were always very helpful and cheerful, nothing seemed too much trouble and we felt that we were staying with friends throughout our holiday. We stayed with Raph et Valérie for three days; these were three beautiful, perfect days 'Au Jardin de la Bachellerie'. Raph & Valérie are the warmest, kindest and most welcoming hosts you could imagine. They looked after me and my partner so well; I am vegan, and Valérie was more than accommodating and extremely generous in recommendations of the local area and providing me with vegan food. She is a wonderful cook, and you will have a very filling breakfast. Raph was extremely communicative and welcoming throughout the process; he has a great sense of humour and will make sure that all your needs are met. He is committed to making sure that you have the best stay possible. The room itself was gorgeous - spacious, cool (it was very hot when we went) and the bathroom is luxurious. The rooms were extremely clean and well-furnished. The pool was total bliss, very clean and a good size. The surroundings were beautiful, peaceful and just what we were hoping for. Worth every penny and we will be returning as soon as we can. Raph et Valérie are just the most wonderful people in the whole world. Cannot recommend highly enough.

Il est des endroits qui ressemblent au paradis: au jardin de la bachellerie fait assurėment parti du paradis. Ce lieu est en tout point exceptionnel. Trois chambres très joliment décorées vous tendent les bras dans une bâtisse du 17ème siècle. Vos hôtes, Valérie et Raphaël, sauront rendre votre séjour idyllique. Les petits déjeuners vous laisseront le goût et le parfum de la madeleine de Proust. La piscine saura vous rafraîchir ainsi que les nuits calmes. Des hôtes bienveillants, attentionnés, toujours de bons conseils pour les escapades touristiques et culinaires en Dordogne. Yvette, François

Nous avons passé un séjour merveilleux , leur accueil, leur gentillesse, leur naturelle empathie et cette humanité qui nous les a fait sentir si proches de nous. Un ancien presbytère parfaitement réhabilité, un cadre reposant,très facile d' accès, une chambre spacieuse et confortable,une table d' hote gourmande et locale,un souci ecologique constant ,et des hôtes....qui sont vraiment des hôtes !Une adresse à retenir,vraiment.
