Gorge View Bush Retreat : Katherine NT

I am not known for being much of a camper but when in Katherine what better place to stay than here. Cute as a button the glamping tents came with a couch, great beds, linen, fan, torch .. really Kate and Carney have thought about everything. Fridge in the share kitchen was full of fresh cold water- shared bathrooms where clean and the common pool was refreshing. Our evening on the top deck with impromptu local guest Manu playing didgeridoo and authentically sharing his story was a highlight! We felt very lucky to share the space for the evening.

Very cool set up. Cozy tents with very comfy beds, air conditioning and a fan! Great pool and bush camp kitchen. Viewing deck has panoramic views. You can order pizzas in advance for dinner and these were delicious or you can drive a short way to have dinner in Katherine or you could cook and eat at the communal tables. Stunning landscapes

We planned to stay for 2 and extended to stay another night to really see some of the local sights. Kate & Carney are extremely welcoming hosts, encouraging us not to miss sunset hour & promptly head up to the sunset deck to hear Manual on the didgeridoo. The children loved hearing Manual's storytelling while being treated to freshly made pizzas. The camp ground was ideally situated to Nitmiluk National Park for 2 gorge boat cruise. Make sure to pack your pool noodle to enjoy floating down the hot springs in town & the short walk to Edith Falls for family friendly swimming. The children are still talking about when we are next going to visit Kate & Carney at Gorge View Bush Retreat, thanks for having us :)

Great location outside Katherine. Friendly staff genuinely wanting to ensure you have a great stay starting with an ice cold drink on arrival and the offer of freshly prepared pizzas on the property’s sunset viewing deck. Shower / toilet blocks were clean with lovely hot showers and plenty of shampoo, conditioner, body wash and handwash and a hair dryer. Well equipped camp kitchen and beautiful new swimming pool. The beds in the tents were comfy with clean linen and towels provided and warm blanket and doona for chilly nights / mornings. Each eco tent had a cute little ceiling fan and 2 USB ports for phone charging. Loved our stay at Gorge View Bush retreat and can highly recommend to others.

Excellent stay. Stayed in a standard tent (not a tee pee) in the dry season with a friend. Tent had two single beds. Smaller than other glamping style tents, but they were plenty for what we wanted. Was initially worried it would be too cold at night, but the blankets provided were perfect. Recommend the sunset sessions on Friday and Saturday nights - arrive early, book pizza in advance, and there is a bar set up there for drinks. Hosts Kate and husband were great, as were the staff who worked there. Only two showers and two toilets per gender, so try to avoid peak bathroom times. Three camping kitchens stocked with cutlery etc, fridges, which were great. Close to the Nitmiluk National Park, which has excellent hikes.

It is NOT glamping tent accommodation. The marketing photos are fabricated it is nothing like those photos. No Airconditioning therefore unbearable. It is a wasteland. Sofa is filthy. Flooring dirty. Shared kitchen basic I wouldn’t cook there. Shared bathroom is a long way from tent if you had to use during the night no lit pathway. Pool is murky and dirty only 80% full of water. So horrible we could not stay the night and forfeited our payment.
