Playitas Hotel - Sports Resort

A fantastic trip at a location that is perfect. As a wheelchair user it’s extremely accessible too. The staff in all areas are kind, helpful and friendly whether it’s behind the bar, during your meal or the fitness staff. Everyone is quick to help. The location is fantastic with sports by the sea and the food is off a good quality. All inclusive is a great option. Thanks for giving me a great holiday. I’ll be back.

Mixed feelings. Sports facilities still great. I really love the perfect 50 mtr salty pool. Nothing better than swimming outdoors and have your own lane. Yoga classes and reformer pilates became much more expensive (double price) since last year August. No reformer pilates classes on the schedule during my week there. Food in general very tasty, Healthy and enough to choose for everyone. Just one tip, please dont call it beetroot, carrot or cucumber juice if it is just apple juice from a carton and sweet as hell. That was much better last year. No omelets without meat anymore. The main deception was the big groups of young people (i believe there for swim and padel camps) who made a hell of noise day and night and took over the complete resort. Atmosphere was completely different than end of high season 2024. Even then with more families, kids etc it was more relaxed.

Not allowed to have fun? Been at the pool by the hotel for 3 days, me and girlfriend splashed some water for 5 seconds and the lifeguard had to complain to us about it. Other guests also reacted about that it was to much to tell off guests about that. After all, people are here to have a vacation and they should save the complaining for actual problem-guests. They sit exactly by the pool and look angry all day. Since we are calm people not use to getting called off it kinda ruined it for us. Gf’s Been here 3 times but says this was probably the last. Also, Very noisy children in the apartment hotel restaurant, if you decide to go here don’t book that (if you’re traveling without kids) The gym is so hot almost dangerous, no fans or AC and at least 40 degrees celcius Watch out

Europes Best Sport Resort Such a bold slogan from Playitas – but can they live up to it?? I don’t think so. We’ve just finished a week of active family holiday at Playitas. Was it good? Yes! Is there room for improvement? Plenty! First and foremost, I find it both challenging (and frankly stupid!!) that you have to pay extra for a range of things that really should be included in the price at a sports resort. You have to pay to rent courts for padel, tennis, and pickleball. You have to pay for spinning and many types of crossfit. That should be included in the price. On top of that, there’s an antiquated system where you have to physically stand in line for quite a while just to book classes. That could easily be improved in 2025. Many activities take place under the blazing sun – only the instructors are shaded – it would be fairly simple to put up a few large sun sails so parts of the areas were in shade. The restaurants were a chapter of their own. Overall, the food was good with decent variety. Options for both healthy dishes and more indulgent holiday food! But… The service was downright hopeless. It took ages from when you sat down at a table until someone came to take your drink order. It took even longer for the drinks to actually arrive – and several times they only showed up after we reminded them! We also got served the wrong wine a couple of times. The restaurant ran out of cutlery. Clean plates were often not tha clean! The dishes at the buffet were often left empty without being refilled, and several times we experienced many dishes being “sold out” if you came during the second half of the opening hours. That’s not good enough! By the pool, it was the Wild West – sunbeds were “reserved” with towels all day without anyone using them, so often you couldn’t get a spot! If you wanted a drink by the pool, you were “ripped off” for an extra €1 for a plastic cup – and the drinks weren’t cheap to begin with! (And again, the waiting time at the bar from ordering to actually getting your drink was hopeless!) We’ve previously been to La Santa Sports, which clearly outperforms Playitas. Almost all activities are included, classes are booked via an app, and overall the service level is much higher! Here, we got the clear impression that it was more about squeezing as much money as possible out of the guests!

I recently visited Playitas, often promoted as Europe’s leading sports resort, and was especially looking forward to the HYROX branded training sessions advertised throughout the facility. As someone familiar with HYROX training and its coaching standards, I was disappointed by what I experienced. The class I attended was branded as official HYROX Training, charged at €5.50 per participant, and had close to 60 people. It was led by Coach Hugo, a Playitas sponsored athlete influencer who to my knowledge does not hold a HYROX certification. Unfortunately, his approach came across as arrogant and disengaged, and the session lacked any meaningful coaching, technical instruction, or correction. To make matters worse, the music was extremely loud, to the point that it was difficult to hear instructions or communicate with others. Instead of a structured, performance oriented training session, it felt like a chaotic group workout with little oversight or safety awareness. More broadly, it seems that Playitas relies heavily on guest instructors and influencers, often without verified certifications or coaching insurance, while charging guests for branded training experiences. For a resort that positions itself as a top tier sports destination, this raises concerns about professionalism, safety, and transparency. That said, Playitas is set in a beautiful location, offers healthy food options, and the staff are genuinely friendly and helpful. The setting and overall vibe are great for an active holiday but when it comes to specialized or branded training like HYROX, I would strongly recommend verifying instructor credentials and expectations in advance.

I really liked this hotel. There is a brilliant range of activities and the classes were all very good. There is an extra charge for some classes but almost all are included. I would say it's well worth the money to do reformer pilates (with Jonna) and the Fitness WODs. Hotel room is a little basic and the fridge was bizarrely locked. The food was all very good, always freshly cooked meat and fish. The only real downside is that it is such a pain to buy water. Even in the gym or any of the workout spaces there is not a fountain or any water included which I think is poor for a fitness hotel. I fully expected to pay for all drinks (I was full board and all inclusive is not an option) but I was really surprised by the water. There are even signs in the restaurant telling you not to fill up up your water bottle which is not eco friendly at all. It leads to everyone at a huge hotel buying plastic water bottles. For me, I would not have minded buying them at the supermarket but the fridge is weirdly locked so you are stuck with warm water! Sort out a water fountain at the gym and this would be the perfect holiday.
