What can I say! My absolute idea of heaven. I just love mountains, snow and wooden chalets and this has it all. Sadly, only stayed one night but would have been perfect for a week, Lovely, helpful German lady on reception who kindly loaned us a travel adaptor. Our room was very big, large comfy beds, super wooden flooring and furniture and a balcony. Plenty of outdoor seating to sit and look at the snow while drinking chocolate. The restaurant served the most tasty food and breakfast was great. Short walk to the local bus stop, which had a waiting room with seating and toilets, ideal in cold/ wet weather. I think there was also a family games room underground, We had a lovely walk around the village before our evening meal. This was part of a surprise holiday, booked for me by my husband, and I'm still on cloud nine now! Would love to go back.

We are still dreaming of the pain au chocolate. The hotel made us feel so very welcome. They brought drinks and appetizers to friends who were watching the European Futbol championships in the bar. The spa was amazing and the hotel was quite comfortable. This was our favorite hotel on our trip to Switzerland and would highly recommend a stay there!

I had not stayed there since 2007 and it was just great. Super renovation, nice, competent staff. We had room 210 which was quite dark, but the manager said they would try to correct the lighting. We went skinning directly from the hotel and it was wonderful. We will be back!

The most wonderful hotel: room, setting, food and a warm welcome. Peaceful, clean and attractive hotel. Close to regular buses, half an hour from Gstaad. Our room was comfortable and stylish with excellent fittings - could happily have stayed much longer.

It is difficult to fully articulate just how much we enjoyed our stay in this most beautiful and peaceful part of Switzerland. We had high expectations of the quality of hotel and service before we arrived but in every aspect our expectations were exceeded because of the genuine and caring attitude of every member of the Alpenland team. The setting, service, comfort, cleanliness, facilities and food were all absolutely superb and the Alpenland not only put you at ease throughout but their attention to the fine details in a quiet and efficient way makes this an exceptional hotel. Thank you to them all for providing us with the most memorbale of holidays.

Such a charming hotel - lovely without the pretentious vibe of Gstaad which is an easy short bus ride away. The walks from the door are absolutely beautiful, and because of the excellent buses and trains, we didn't need a car. The staff are wonderful - especially the manager, and we will return but in the summer next time to do the wonderful walks in another season.

Excellent quiet location with a fantastic view on Alps! The hotel is in very good shape, rooms are comfortable and super clean. Great sauna. Very good breakfast, excellent lunch menu and wonderful fondu. Very friendly staff. Special thanks for handling the late checkout situation. Highly recommended.

This 3 star hotel is worthy of 4 stars. The situation, the welcome, the service, the room, the view, the food, the cleanliness, the comfort and last but not least the spa area, are all superb. One steps out of the door and hikes galore await. Winter is probably the best time to go for families as there is a small ski lift next door to the hotel, snow permitting! Gstaad is a short bus ride away with a very different atmosphere to Lauenen.

The hotel is in an exceprtionally beautiful spot overlooking the mountains, with great walks straight from the hotel. Our room was very spacious and comfortable with a balcony. Lovely meals were served on the outside terrace. The staff are professional and friendly and manage to create a special atmosphere. It is pretty expensive, as is most of Switzerland, so we only stayed for 2 instead of 3 nights.

World class service hotel Our rental car was facing issue and could not start in front of hotel. It almost spoilt our holiday. Kudos to great service from gentleman that went above and beyond, he helped us to fixed car issue with mechanic and drove car back to parking lot by the time we check in after exhausting full day drive. Extremely grateful. Hotel rooms were beautiful and food in restaurant was marvelous. Will come back again

This was a most wonderful week in the Alpenland. We traveled with our dog, as many other guests did. There was always a quiet atmosphere to enjoy--beautiful setting of the hotel right next to a nature preserve, excellent food with varying four-course menus every evening, wonderfully furnished rooms and impeccable service. We will be back!

This place was nice but i felt it was a bit overpriced for just having a soup and salad.The dessert was definitely overpriced but was delish for sure. The sidewalk also had alot of ice and needed salt

Très joli hôtel magnifiquement situé face à un cirque de montagnes et à quelques minutes de Gstaad. Chalet en bois, assez récent mais n'ayant pas essayé de vieillir artificiellement ses façades, c'est avec la même authenticité que vous serez reçu par le nouveau gérant. Accueil efficace et charmant avant de découvrir une chambre très confortable donnant sur le fonds de vallée spectaculaire, mais le plus incroyable est encore à venir, c'est bien la tranquillité, le silence incroyable, juste troublé par le murmure d'une rivière, ce qui évite le sentiment angoissant du silence absolu. Une semaine à Lauenen est une vraie cure de jouvence tant on y dort bien. Le restaurant quant à lui est au niveau de l'hôtel. Cuisine authentique, locale comme les roësti et la fondue mais aussi de belles découvertes comme les gnocchi ou la poularde et son magnifique risotto. N'oublions pas au dessert les meringues avec la crème double de la Gruyère, pas franchement idéal pour la ligne mais tellement bon... En plus, l'hôtel Alpenland est le point de départ des tours de calèches dans la neige et c'est un vrai spectacle quand il neige comme aujourd'hui. On peut aussi skier au pied de l'hôtel ou partir en ski de fonds juste en face de la terrasse... N'en jetons plus nous venons de passer une semaine géniale et contrairement à mon habitude je joins quelques photos

Abseits vom Trubel der High Society in Gstaad ist dieses Hotel eine wahre Perle. Das Hotel ist hervorragend geführt. Die Zimmer sind grosszügig, sehr sauber und lassen keine Wünsche offen. Das Badezimmer ist riesig. Vom Tresor über die gefüllte Minibar und Balkon zum Verweilen ist dieses Hotel perfekt. Dieses Haus hat ebenfalls eine hervorragende Küche. Die Speisen sind liebevoll präsentiert und die Bedienung ist ausserordentlich kompetent. Ein Aufenthalt hier ist immer ein positives Erlebnis
