While the place could use some serious updating and TLC, it had a an interesting classic thriller vibe to it. We were one of three occupied rooms the night we stayed, and the fog rolled in extra heavy making for an almost portentous air. It's an old style motor inn sitting at the highest point of a ridge, meaning spectacular views, I guess, when the clouds clear up (they didn't). The room was comfortable enough and very clean with good beds, flat screen tv. The bathroom was perfectly functional, but in dire need of updating. Our sun room unfortunately had an odd chemical smell to it, but could be closed off with a sliding door and was a nice touch as additional storage. We were checked in at the motel's diner (original office looks closed and used for storage) which boasted a large menu and good selection of alcohol for purchase. Dinner there was tasty and made with care. I'd stay again if I ever come to Lavers Hill. Who doesn't love a place with a few surprises.
