Ibis Styles le Mans Centre Gare

This is a difficult review to write. We have been staying in Ibis Styles hotels in France for many years and would normally rate them highly. Fine examples of these are in Saumur and Beaune. The problem seems to be that that there seems to be complete confusion as to the way these hotels are catagorised. We have just stayed in a straightforward Ibis in La Rochelle and the interior decoration was almost identical to an Ibis Styles. The only difference seems to be that breakfast is included in the Styles brand. The Ibis Styles in Le Mans is no doubt well run . But the building is tired and the decoration and entrance is underwhelming. It just didn’t seem to reflect the Styles brand . The breakfast was enjoyable but perhaps not quite up to the standard of other Styles hotels we have visited. However the price was extremely competitive which was a big plus and so we presume that this is where the main difference lies. But all the same , the brand in our view is in danger of being compromised. The staff in Le Mans were very helpful and friendly and the beds comfortable. The location too was excellent. Hence the difficulty in writing this review!

Accor Hotels you cannot be serious???? THIS hotel is an Ibis Style????? I have NEVER stayed in such a sad, run down and neglected hotel anywhere in the world and this place surely cannot be an Ibis?? From the outside the place looks awful and inside it gets worse, to be honest. We were given a handicapped room (which we had not booked) and there was no kettle, no fridge and the big poster cum headboard was hanging off the wall, but when we protested the reception lady told us that all the rooms are like that. Really. We had no alternative as I had prepayed but this was perhaps the worst Ibis ever. Outside the hotel there were many dropouts begging for money and the stench of urine in the car park was truly awful NEVER AGAIN. For sure.

Distance 10/10 Service 5/10 Room cleaniness 8/10 Clean room, size is okay for family of 4. However, they lack what I feel essential items thst should be basic necessity in any hotel rooms - Pot to boil water. - No tea/coffee or cups/spoons in rooms. - Bottled water Distance to tram within 5 mins. Distance to the main train station 5 mins. Receptionist isnt friendly at all. No smile on the face. My room was out of electricity the first day, so I called and wanted to get it checked. Staff was what I felt rude. I was telling her that the electricity in the room was out. There was no TV, my phones weren’t charging. She kept guiding me on how to turn on the TV. I made ir clear about what was happening and then she snapped and said “I am not an electrician, so I wouldn’t know how to help you”. Then she insisted that I come down and change rooms. She claims she is alone at the counter, therefore unable to fix the bedding for the sofa bed. So asked me to wait for another hour so she could do that, but I can’t be bothered with her tone and do it myself. Could do better Ibis. I hope you do.

Staff brilliance Staff were brilliant as we had issues with the ferry. We arrived at 2.30a.m…they were great..so very helpful…

Seuls atouts : Hôtel bien situé, bonne literie. Accueil triste et peu avenant à l’arrivée dans une entrée sombre et peu agréable. Décoration sinistre et triste peu attractif. Ascenseurs peu rassurants … Ensemble anonyme et peu agréable. Rapport qualité prix peu probant.
