Balvi Hotel

Balvi is at the end of the Western world, and the hotel doesn’t seem to care. My room had a bad atmosphere due to poor ventilation in the bathroom—nothing to do about it in the middle of the night. The hotel claims to have 24/7 reception. That's not really true, as you have to call the receptionist who obviously lives elsewhere. But surprisingly, it was a good breakfast with fresh veggies and freshly fried eggs. The sausages were terrible, though (almost vegetarian with mainly flour, fat and aroma), and the yoghurt served was some artificially flavoured creme with a long shelf life. What is wrong with fresh yoghurt and some fruit? Excellent Italian coffee was served!
