Hotel Puerta Del Sol

Overall, I had an outstanding experience on the slopes but the Puerta del Sol Hotel experience was poor. It was common to wait over 20 minutes to be helped at the desk and I received inaccurate information when I was finally helped. Specifically, I was told the road was open when it was actually closed. The worst part was when we were departing after a major snowstorm, after being advised by the front desk my car would be shoveled out, I was forced to use my bare hands to shovel out my car with over 4 inches of snow on it in a snowbank. The front desk did not have a shovel and nobody was willing to assist even as I was parked immediately outside of the front door. In addition, my friend was not able to make it to the hotel given the road closure and I am still waiting to hear back on a partial refund. Overall, the skiing was outstanding but the hotel service was poor. I was OK waiting for assistance but having to shovel out my car by myself without a shovel let alone any help from the staff was shocking.

The Staff Was Very Good….Resort Need Lots of Updates. One Main Lift Chair Was Broken for 8 Days. Rooms Outdated In Puerta Del SOl Hotel. The Restaurant and Food Are Excellent !!! Especially The Italian and French One. I Paid 4,000 USD For a Week ( Included: Lift Tickets, Breakfast/Dinner, Lodging, Hotel Activities ) Not Airfare Included Nor Drinks + Tips

Terrible hotel, terrible ski track (a lot of rocks in the track and bad signalization) , and finally, the worst hotel staff ever (excluding some good souls in the middle of the hurricane). I don’t recommend to anybody and I will never come back.

The amount you pay is far away for what it deserves. The hotel is old, infrastructures are quite bad with terrible pillows and bed. The checkout experience was terrible. They looked the fridge one night before and tooled away our personal belongings just because: tomorrow morning it should be a crowded morning. There must be better options by the same price

Terrible, old hotel and rooms. Elevator broken, just work one. If it’s your first tine sky, dont go to the vale nevado hotel. I paid for 2 hour class, but just have one. And you cant go down with cable lift to the beginners sky.

First day they burned my finger during breakfast and I had no assistance. Try even said that if I needed medical attention, even though was their fault, I had to pay. Last day we found foil paper in our desert and had no assistance again. They forgot cleaning material in my room and my little kid founded and put in his mouth… with all that we had zero assistance from the hotel. Personal not friendly. They don’t care. Personal here treat you like they are doing the guests a favor.

Bad service at all, average food for expensive prices. But the worst part was the transportation from Santiago, with a normal car (not a 4 x4) and we had the chain broken during the trip. All other cars were moving but us, waiting for a magical solution for almost 2h with a 7yo boy in teh middle of the Andes. Nobody answered the phone or provided help. When arrived, after a 6h trip, they said: it is not our fault because transportation is another vendor- but I hired directly with the hotel so they ARE TOTALLY RESPONSIBLE for that. We lost one day of skiing because of that but they didn´t provide any reimbuserment or help. I totally encourage you to try another option like Portillo or Bariloche.

The rooms are ok, the minibar is empty, the food is just awful, I’m giving 3 stars because of the hotel quality, not the food. The breakfast has a coffee machine that makes the worst coffee/capuccino/hot cocoa that you will ever try. The food service on the restaurants is slow and terrible, and they have the audacity to ask for 10% service on the food that you already payed upfront on the package… the food that you pay (lunch and snacks) is just as bad as the ones that you get on their restaurants, the waffle with nutella is undercooked and the nutella is watery because they mix it with milk to scam you just a little bit more. I can go days here explaining how big of a scam the whole food operation on this resort is, but is better just saying: go to another resort, this one is not worth the price.

The hotel is located in the middle of the Valle Nevado Ski area and is probably the easiest choice if you like Ski in-and-out options. However, the service is not the same it was before. If you arrive after 5pm, you don't get to eat at the restaurante at a decent time, and you will be lucky to get good Dinner times for the other days. During breakfast, if you wanted coffee, then you would need some luck to find a working coffee machine. Almost all restaurants had shortage of the options found on the menu, and to top it all, the checkout has to be dont until 10am regardless of wheather you will ski or not the last day. But since the breakfast is also up to 10am, you end up having to hurry for no reason.
