We had booked our stay at the Acton Town Hotel in Acton, from 28th September until 3rd October. Upon arrival, the young lady at the front desk was taking us to our room, when the owner wanted to ensure we carried our keys with us, as no one would be available after 7pm and he wouldn’t come to help. Once he left the young receptionist tried to assure us and that no one listens to him. On the way up the stairs & onto our floor, I noticed a hand sanitiser unit attached to the wall. This was dried out and remained that way for the entire period. Once we entered the room, it felt dank and dirty. The carpets didn’t just look old but dirty also and in need of vacuuming. The bed was wedged between the walls, which meant that one of us had to climb over the other in order to get out of bed through the night if needed. The bed sheet was set in a way to look “made”, but in fact didn’t cover the top of the mattress, and was laid on top. The mattress itself was terrible. Every time we moved it would “ping” numerous times and reverberate, giving us a terrible nights sleep. As my wife was laid next to the window, she had to clean the windowsill from dirt, mould & a dead fly using face wipes. I went into the bathroom, & had to wash down the cubicle as it looked dirty from stained water on all sides of the glass. The bottom itself looked dirty and stained. The folding shower door also came completely away & only attached at one side. The edges of the bathroom floor had raised and wrinkled from the wall. This has gathered built up dirt and dust & didn’t even look like it had been mopped. After this I began looking further. I found cobwebs in the left side of the room above head level. I looked in and around the fridge. The floor it was on had an orange like stain in the wood. Behind the fridge was an old set of room keys, which not sure how long they had been there as the door lock had changed. We had also noticed that the second smaller window had no curtains or blinds, albeit was frosted patterned glass, but had no curtains to keep out sunlight on a morning. The following morning we also realised there was no mirror in the room, so anyone wanting to blow dry/style their hair, or use make up could only use a phone camera. This made me realise there was no shaver socket in the bathroom either. I don’t use one but other customers may do. It wasn’t until the last day that I had found a blood stain on the patterned pillow case. Thankfully I had slept away from the edge for the majority of the stay. During the first evening of our arrival, there was a large rain pour. We had arrived back in our room we had discovered a leak above the head of the bed in the corner. This had dripped down and onto the pillow. As the bed was wedged in (& we knew no one was available to see), we nudged the bed an inch across & slept at the bottom of the bed, in a mattress that pinged on every movement and a bed sheet that didn’t cover the top. The following morning lea
