Quite difficult to find when arriving in a car, especially disabled. We did find a disabled place right at the top of the street, but it is very hilly. You can reserve a parking space at the hotel for a charge. When walking down the street to the hotel, do not take the first entrance into the little court yard, but the second into the reception area. Here we were greeted very warmly and the location of the hotel is excellent, near to the grotto, centre and shops. We decided to eat in the hotel the first evening and the food was very good and reasonable. The second evening to celebrate our 48th wedding anniversary from advice we are at the restaurant Alexandria, at the top of the street. Quite expensive, but the food was amazing. Breakfast the usual continental affair, though a lack of fresh fruit and a little mundane. It is also well worth taking the little white tourist train, which you board down in the centre, but also stops right outside the hotel and stops at various places including the candle factory. Our accessible room although with a hugh wet room, was really quite bleak with no view or adequate shelving in the bathroom. The bed was comfy, but far too low and following a recent knee operation, was a nightmare to arise from and although on the whole we enjoyed our stay, I was definitely glad to leave it after three nights.

Really professional & helpful staff. There whenever needed but uno strusive. Lovely room with view of river and domaine. Very clean.

As a first timer I was not sure what to expect . The Astoria/Vatican provided for all my needs and more . Clean and comfortable room . The AC works even when your key card not in the slot! Unlike a lot of other hotels . Very friendly staff on reception desk and bar . Waiting staff at tables very quickly realised our needs and would bring without being asked . Mine was boiling water to drink at breakfast ( you’d be surprised how many bring water from the tap!) and my friend’s was 3 strong coffees . Food was tasty and plenty of it . The management were prepared to go above and beyond to make our pilgrimage successful . All this and the hotel was close to the domaine so not a long walk back for a mid afternoon rest !

Having visited this hotel a number of times now with a pilgrimage group, this was another very positive experience. Nicholas, François and all of the staff are so attentive and go above and beyond to help - particularly for our group this time when we had some unexpected challenges. The hotel is within very easy reach of the domaine and you are guaranteed a comfortable stay and warm welcome.

The care and attention from the staff in the hotel, especially Nicolas and Francois is outstanding. I traveled as part of a small pilgrimage group. We had a few issues and they put themselves out to help, even down to driving out at 1am to collect someone from the hospital as there were no taxis.

What a wonderful hotel, with 1st class service. We have had a couple of challenges and Francois and Nicolas couldn't have been more helpful. I couldn't recommend this hotel enough! It is also perfectly located...a 10 minute walk to the domain. 🙏

I have stayed at this hotel many many times and the staff is always outstanding and cannot do enough for you. The location is perfect, as it is only a short 10 minute max walk down to the Domaine and central to all the shops, museums etc. In our most recent stay, we had issues with the airline which caused our group to be separated and resulted in a late arrival for some of the group, and the hotel staff were exemplary in supporting us with this. They got everyone who arrived on time into their rooms straight away, even though we arrived early in the morning, because they knew what a difficult trip we had had and wanted to make sure we had everything we needed. The hotel manager, Nicolas, stayed up until past 1am to personally greet the remaining members of our group when they arrived, to make sure everything was ok with their rooms and to see if there was anything else he could do to help them. One of our group was taken ill during our stay and taken by ambulance to hospital with her daughter. A couple of our group went to the hospital to be with them and when the lady was told she would be kept in overnight and her daughter was not allowed to stay with her, the three people tried to come home that evening, but they could not get hold of any taxis. We spoke to the hotel and Nicolas immediately said he would go and pick them up himself, even though it was 1am, which he absolutely did not have to do and was way over and above normal or even high customer service standards. Without his kindness and generosity, three of our group would have been left at the hospital all night with nowhere to sleep, no food and no water. I cannot express enough how amazing this hotel’s team is, particularly Nicolas, Francois and Laurence, but every one of the staff is lovely, kind, positive and cannot do enough to help you, no matter how big or small the problem. As someone who runs a group which includes people with disabilities and other illnesses, knowing that you can always count on the hotel team to support you with any issue that may arise during your stay is completely invaluable. Thank you so much to this fantastic team for yet another wonderful stay in Lourdes. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone coming to Lourdes, as a group or as an individual.

I have been to Astoria Vatican Hotel many times and will go back again and again. Very clean hotel, friendly staff, nice food and very near the sanctuary. Almost all the staff speaks English, Italian, Spanish and obviously French. The staff became my friends!

Excellent three star hotel, very friendly staff, clean comfortable room, standard continental breakfast About 5 mins walk to the sanctuary . Plenty of good restaurants in the neighborhood. There is a nice shaded courtyard area to relax in.

My mother stayed in this hotel with unitalsi and shared a room with another person. Rooms were good, comfortable, lunch and dinners perfect, staff was excellent especially the waitresss with the glasses, the tall one, but at the check out my mother wanted to pay 3 extras meals i had ( this was comunicated always in advance) and the lady at the check out didn't even know that ( they were not even charged in the system). She asked 21 € per meal when it was supposed to be 18, at the end she also made an excuse, the typical to not use the POS and my mother had to pay cash (very smart, illegal and in black) and she didn't even give a receipt to my mother (not professional). My mother was shocked, that's not nice to take advantage of people forcing then to pay cash, POS are working and if by any chance you can't do it it's your responsability write a paper where you write you can't take credit card transactions. I can't believe this happened in Lourdes!!! Maybe now the reception lady took the 54€ and meals will never appear in the system as they should..it seems somebody should teach them how to work properly and not taking advantage of old guests.

Originally booked the hotel in 2019 for a stay in 2020 but the pandemic required us to postpone the trip three times before we arrived this April. The Hotel management nonetheless kept our room booking throughout the interim period without any issue. Our room on 7th floor had a stunning view across the river and framed the whole of Lourdes Sanctuary. Hotel staff from reception to dining room were very friendly, accommodating and took care to make sure our stay was as enjoyable as possible. Room was clean, functional with a large comfortable bed.The hotel’s location was great - close to the Sanctuary but in a quieter side road with great access to all nearby shops and restaurants. We would definitely stay at this hotel again .

As our group were using two different parts of the hotel, including one person in a wheelchair who needed assistance in the narrow corridors of the 4th floor, the 3 different lifts needed a bit of getting used to. The food was very good but I felt that there was too much and I feared that there would be some unnecessary waste.
