The Old Dower House

Just got back from the charming Old Dower House in Marbury. My wife and I had a delightful weekend stay. The room was excellent as was the breakfasts served and prepared by our wonderful hosts Hannah and Trevor Hannah couldn’t do enough for us. On Friday evening we ate at the nearby Swan public house which was also excellent It is situated in a lovely part of the country. Well worth the visit

This B&B is outstanding. The bed room was spacious, well equipped, comfortable and has amazing views. Fabulous linens, large fluffy towels and great quality products in the bathroom. All the facilities for guests are exceptional, such as spacious lounge, dining area and outside seating. Fabulous location. Peaceful. Breakfast menu is extensive and very impressive and the breakfasts I chose were divine. The hostess is welcoming, friendly and made me feel extremely comfortable. Highly recommend.

We stayed at The Old Dower House for our wedding weekend. After postponing 3 times we had been in touch with Hannah for 2 and a half years before our stay. Hannah was so understanding throughout the changes and when it came to our stay she made sure everything was perfect. We arrived to freshly baked cake and biscuits and breakfast both days was delicious! The rooms are beautifully decorated and very clean. It was such a lovely place to get ready on my wedding morning with views of the church and the mere- I had no excuse to be late! It is also so nice to be in walking distance to such a good pub!

Driving away from the Old Dower House feeling nourished, happy and well cared for, treated as family. I can’t recommend this beautiful B&B highly enough. We are a family of six travelling from Australia for a nearby wedding at the spectacular Grange Barn. Hannah welcomed us and showed us around. The photos simply don’t do it justice. All the little luxuries thought of and provided. Hannah had made up extra beds for our children and baked home made lemon drizzle cake and yummy cookies for us. The breakfast was first class, enjoyed around the family table. I had been unwell in the lead up and on the day of the wedding, suffered an asthma attack. Hannah drove me to the nearby hospital half an hour away and waited with me for two hours. Such kindness is beyond words and I can’t thank her enough. We were all sad to leave and look forward to returning one day.

We stayed here for two nights whilst away from home for a friend’s wedding and it is such a hidden gem! The photos don’t do it justice, it’s absolutely gorgeous! We arrived late after a long drive and Hannah had waited up to show us to our room/house which was lovely. We walked into an enormous room, much bigger than photos, with a huge kind sized bed in which I had the best night sleep I’d had for ages. The room was so quiet and you wake up to the most beautiful views of the countryside. The waterfall shower was fantastic and so refreshing! Lovely toiletries provided. Hannah had baked us a lemon drizzle cake that day and with the teas/coffees/hot chocolates provided in the room too it was such a lovely touch. We stayed in the house which has a guest living room upstairs - gorgeous room with yet more lovely views over the countryside! The dining room is beneath the guest living room and Hannah cooked up the most delicious breakfast both mornings - I had the full English the first morning and pancakes with bacon and maple syrup the second and wolfed both down, such good cooking! There are beautiful walks you can go on literally on your doorstep, The Swan pub and restaurant about 20 seconds away, and Chester/Whitchurch/Nantwich etc. are all a really short drive away so location is great. I couldn’t recommend this place more - you’ll be so well looked after and come away feeling well fed, rested and refreshed.
