The hotel was nice, but there are a few issues. Cleanliness in public areas and especially around the bar area is not good. Flies are a huge problem, and staff were observed swatting flies with a cloth and then cleaning surfaces with the same cloth. Food quality was mixed and samey and unfortunately caused me an upset stomach. Having spoken to several other guests, they complained of the same. The staff are superb and give a very personal service, especially in the dining room and bar area. Special mention to Salah, who is the backbone of this hotel. Also to Asharif, Omar, Abdell, Abdeali, Ahmed, and the smiling chef called Arram. These guys work hard and make this hotel what it is. The entertainment team was friendly, engaging, and put on a show every night. They could do with having live bands come to the hotel like they do in their neighbouring hotel. My room was beautiful and serviced daily to a high standard. I found reception staff to be overwhelmed and fairly swamped when it came to dealing with enquiries. I had to ask reception staff several times for the same thing to be done and found that quite frustrating. I used the laundry service, and despite asking reception 3 times for the laundry to be uplifted, it still remained in my room. When it was eventually uplifted (4pm), it was not delivered for another 2 days, and this was after i chased them up as I was leaving the next day. There wasn't even an apology or a refund. One thing I noticed was the number of poolside lights not working at night as you walk past to return to your room. I counted seven lights not functioning, and with the wet poolside, I found it quite dangerous due to poor lighting. The hotel provided a courtesy bus into Marrakech, and this was excellent.
