Riad Balkisse

The rooms are dark and cold, the bed is hard, the bathroom is very small and no windows, Most of the rooms do not have windows. The owner does not live in Morocco he lives in France so he is not there to meet you the place is run by local staff. The shower drain is always blocked when you shower the water stands. The price shown with a big discount is false the place is not worth it. There are cheaper and better places around the Medina. It’s not worth the price. It’s in a very dirty area got to get there through narrow dark alleys. Not accessible with a taxi. The staff are rude and don’t take responsibility even though they are running the place. The breakfast is pathetic just a piece of cake cup of coffee or tea and a piece of bread home cooked and a small glass of cordial orange juice it’s not fresh orange as advertised. In the three nights I was there just got an egg once. The kitchen is small and dirty. There are only 8 rooms on the premises but the owner has other riads around nearby also run by the locals. It’s sad as when you have a problem the owner is not there and there is no contact with him. I will be contacting Airbnb as well to relate my problems that I have experienced at riad balkisse. There will also be a 5 euro charge per room per night which will have to be paid in cash at the premises and this is not mentioned on the booking. I would rate this accommodation as 1 this is with my personal experience.

OK, so the room was horrible. Horrible smell of sewer or mold and noise from the courtyard routinely until 1 am. I also booked an excursion from this place, *DO NOT BOOK EXCURSIONS FROM HERE*. They did not book the correct excursion and ruined our 3 day trip, refusing to refund me the amount after the error. They told me they would refund a much smaller amount, which 3 weeks later has not hit my bank account. Stay and book your stay elsewhere.

Truly had a wonderful experience here at Riad Balkisse Hajar and Ousma were great managers who went above and beyond during our stay. In particular Hajar even plan a surprise Birthday event for me with my friends when she found out that we were there as a birthday trip. It was very thoughtfully of her and shows amazing Moroccan hospitality!

This place has totally SCAMMED us. If you are planning to visit morocco, DO NOT book this place. We were 4 travelers with a baby.They did not give us the room we booked at the first place. We arrived morocco little late because of the time differences, we even sent them our flight information still they did not hold the rooms for us. This place does not even have air conditioner that works properly .They took us to a small tiny congested room and asked us to stay there for the night which was impossible. They completely refused to give us the refund and I have no idea how in the world they are doing this business as they are not professional with their guests. ANOTHER SCAM - They wanted us to book their transportation which they asked for double money. We took taxi from the airport and the price was less cheaper than the hotel staff offered us. We did not even ask for transportation and let me make it clear- we DID NOT cancel the booking. They DO NOT have any proof that we cancelled the booking for our rooms, because we did not cancel the rooms booking. And the transportation is completely voluntary , it is not something required by the hotel. Plus based on the texting we were not even sure if actually we are talking to the right people.NOW they are trying to make us the bad people here while they are one tried SCAM us every way that could.I absolutely refused to give them recommendation to other tourists and I highly prefer other tourists to AVOID booking this unprofessiona

This was our second stay at the Riad Balkisse. We booked our stay on a third party booking site (***********) which allowed us to book a Superior Triple Room. Unfortunately we were told this does not exist at the riad, but staff member Mariam did everything she could to accommodate us. Mariam is an asset to the riad, she couldn’t do enough for us. Many thanks Mariam!

The Riad is in a very convenient location, a few minutes walk from many of the tourist attractions. It is located down an alley, as are most of the Roads, but not once did I feel unsafe getting to or from there. The staff are exceptional, always helpful, often going above and beyond their duty. I really cannot recommend this place enough. I will be returning there on my next visit.

We have been 4 Friends in the Riad for a day due to a Road trip over Marruecos and Marrakaseh was in our way. The attention of the recepcionist Zouhair was great, assisting with a big smile to any of our request and questions. The location is good, the breakfast is more than aceptable with pancakes, bread and diferents kind of pasteries. The terrace on the top is quite nice too. Once we back in Marrakesh to fly to Madrid we will stay a couple of night more.

The trip was excellent because the manager was so helpful in all matters.
