Recif Attitude (Adults Only)

This hotel is outstanding in so many ways. It's very much a 3 star hotel which is punching above it's weight in many areas, namely the location and the staff, which are both exceptional. It is a small hotel with a relaxed and non-pretentious vibe, the ideal place to relax and enjoy some of the best sunsets you will ever see. The food is good and plentiful (especially the fruit at breakfast), and I would recommend booking the Kot Nou tapas restaurant upstairs (open Mon/Wed/Fri) which has a slightly classier and more intimate feel (but get in early, it's only small and quickly gets fully booked). The entertainment is low-key, apart from the Sega dancing where the guests are encouraged to get involved. The rooms are fairly basic but had everything we needed, and the bed we found exceptionally comfortable. My only complaint about our particular room would be that although it faced the sea, we could barely see through the palm trees hanging right over our balcony which blocked the view (this was, however, a problem we could cope with)! The biggest negative for us was the pool. From the outset we noticed that it was a cloudy green colour, and appeared to have a film of debris floating on it most of the time. We did notice attempts to clear it but it really just did not look pleasant so we were not tempted to go in, although other guests did use it. But as the beautiful crystal clear Indian Ocean with it's abundance of tropical fish it's literally a few paces away, why would you bother anyway?! As long as you are happy with a warm welcome rather and simplicity rather than luxury, you will not regret coming here. NB the Recif Attitude is closing for a refit in mid December, but anyone coming before then should not be put off, you're in for a treat.

We stayed from December the 19th to December the 30th. We had a Deluxe Beachfront Couple room which was spacious, had sunbeds on grass right outside and was only a few steps from the beach. We would recommend a beachfront room as it's great to be able to hear the sea when you wake up and they are also close to the swimming pool. The hotel is simply decorated and feels bright and clean and the gardens are also very well kept. The hotel staff also clear seaweed from the beach, which is a nice touch given that it's a public beach. We stayed on an all-inclusive basis and the food was excellent, a good breakfast, a lot of choice for lunch and a very varied evening menu with both local and international cuisine, all beautifully presented and cooked. The Recif Attitude is a very relaxed, peaceful environment and it really has the feel of a small, boutique hotel. What really stood out for us was the staff, they are all very friendly and helpful and seem delighted whenever they can do anything to make you happy. The staff are obviously very well chosen and trained and are a credit to the hotel and it's management.

Pros:- lovely staff, beautiful location, good for snorkelling Cons:- Some rooms are damp & smell, poor evening buffet food. Dogs in restaurant a constant problem. Glasses in bar just rinsed by hand under a cold tap. Requested to see head chef on a few occasions didn’t happen. In l’Ocean Restaurant Food not as described our bill was reduced for some items but the point we made was of little interest. A trip advisor report made in March 2023 by Steven H was spot on I was going to change hotels after reading it and I emailed the manager Mr Warren asking if it was correct he copied me his reply to the trip advisor report. Obviously the managements total disinterest has probably a lot to do with the hotel being demolished in December and being rebuilt over the next two years
