This hotel is still undergoing a period of transition. The reception area is bland and the furniture looks like it has been reappointed from the previous hotel. However once you walk out into the pretty, immaculate garden and into the refurbished rooms, you experience the results of the update. Rooms have been refurbished in a white colour scheme, voiles and black out curtains along with white bed linen and light wood furniture, complement the room. The safe is large and located in a draw, easy access than the usual ones hidden in dark wardrobes. The infinity pools are immaculate with comfortable loungers and plenty of umbrellas - the “no reserving of sun loungers” was very much enforced. You can access directly onto the beach with it ample loungers, umbrellas and beautiful clear waters. Take your beach shoes thought, as it’s a pebble beach which gets very hot. Download the App on arrival. Gives you access to menus, restaurant times and a WhatsApp communication tab - great for when you’ve no clean towels or have a general enquiry. Located at the end of Kalamata beach road, you can easily walk to numerous bars and restaurants. A brand new supermarket is only 5 minutes walk and an excellent, English speaking chemist, less than 10 minutes in the other direction. If you want to experience the restaurants further down the beach, towards the marina and the port, hop on the bus outside the hotel gates, 1.50€ will take you all the way along the beach road, and up into the old town, if you stay on it until the last stop. In our view, there are a couple of areas for improvement. Firstly the provision of a Nespresso machine in the room is pretty standard now, but to only provide 2 complimentary pods per adult ( we were staying over a week) seemed very stingy and we have never experienced pods not being replenished daily. Also bottled water is usually provided daily free of charge not on just on arrival. The other area where we thought the hotel fell short was with the restaurants. Want to note though that breakfast quality and selection are superb. There are 3 offerings, a buffet, a La carte and an all day pool menu (only until 6pm though). A la carte menu is limited choice if you stay longer than 3 or so days. All are seated in the same space. The waiters were having to ask guests which dining option they required and you could dressed for dinner but sat next to people still in their swimwear. Also, there is no dedicated bar, so the staff are serving the restaurant customers first and you can experience long delays to just get a drink, one evening we left without being served. Such a shame that the original beach bar/restaurant is fenced off and not operational. Despite this, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel, and as many previous guests have mentioned, the staff are outstanding. A special thank you to Giorgos, Antonis, Constantinos and Vicky. Always friendly and happy to help. The dramatic view of the mountain and the beautiful clear sea
