Milwaukee Marriott Downtown

We were there for 3 nights. Great location, nice room and very comfy beds. Great service at the bar/restaurant. But our experience was not up to par. Firstly, we waited until 4h45 PM to get our room, even though check in is at 4PM. This is a first for us at a Marriott. Having said that, the personnel at the front desk were very friendly during what would have been a stressful time for them. We had access to the lounge, but on the first morning we went, they were out of water bottles and when we came back at 5 PM, they were still out. It was apparent that no one had been there. We notified the front desk when we went out for dinner. The next morning, the coffee urn was empty and the coffee machine was not working. A smarter guest than I found out what maintenance needed to be done and solved the problem. Again, no one seemed to be paying attention. We also lost internet connection and key access midway through our stay and we had to go to the front desk to get it solved. Other than the first issue which was frankly very frustrating, none of the others are life-altering; some would say nit-picks, But the hotel management is losing an opportunity to make this a Marriott-worthy experience.

Just to say this in advance, and hopefully not sound like an ass, but I'm a Marriott guy. Platinum, have over a million banked right now and truly love the brand. That said, I have no idea how this is a 4.5 star rated Marriott. I checked in and was scheduled for 3 nights. Upon check in, told the person at the counter that I would only be staying two and all was fine. I always ask for a high floor, loving views of the city. Went up to the room to a view of what was like the side of a warehouse that was empty. Look, they cannot control the environment around them so no big deal. But, over my stay, realized the carpet was really pretty disgusting, stained in many places, the bathroom had mold in the shower. The sink had that moldy smell that when you brushed your teeth or washed your face, you could smell it. The hair dyer worked, when you plugged it in, it would go on, but no way to turn it off except unplugging. And, as always, in a lot of hotels, went to iron a shirt and poured water into the iron only to have it 100% pour right through the iron onto the board and my shirt. This place is tired to say the least. Upon checking out, I mentioned the issue to the person at the desk who apologized and said he would credit me points on my account. Didn't say how many and they never showed up. Then I asked about the mistake on my bill. They had charged me $569 for the first night. When I booked online, the avg price for the 3 nights was about $270 +/-. The person at the counter told me that it didn't look right because the other rates he was seeing for that night were in line with what I expected, in the mid-$200's. He said he would get with the manager when they got in and get back to me. Several hours later he called me back and basically said "Sorry, that's the rate." I've been fighting with them for 4 weeks now out of the principle of it and will be disputing on my credit card soon. If you see any of my reviews, they are fair and balanced. It is hard to be fair and balanced when you pay for a Marriott, stay in the equivalent of a Motel 6 and get zero consideration for a substandard stay and over charge of the rate.

Room was clean and adequate, comfortable bed and bedding. Parking is valet only and somewhat expensive (42/car/day). Check-in staff was pleasant and helpful. Executive lounge was decent. Restaurant/Bar at the hotel was convenient although food was average.

Beyond extraordinary is the best way to describe the individuals at work at this location. I had surgery last week and was moving slower the normal but needed to be in town for business. Between helping with lost bags, getting me a better room, accommodating random requests to ensure I was on time for back to back meeting and 16 hour work days, Accommodating a last minute late.Check out requests, and mote. ... above and beyond every step of the way. I will absolutely stay here more. I come to Milwaukee often and typically stay at the Pfister or the Saint Kate. I was meeting a colleague in Milwaukee who had booked at the Marriott , which is why I switched locations. This experience has persuaded me to choose the marriott much more often. Two hotel team members deserve an award for their extraordinary service .. bitj at the front desk. Natalie and (I can't find the other card with thur senvind name) When I do I will write another review as I stayed there for a long time...And both of them were great and deserve recognition.

I’ve been traveling for work for 20+ years and this hotel was the most exceptional hotels I’ve ever visited. The restaurant was amazing and hotel was immaculate. Staff was extremely accommodating. I will definitely return on my next trip to Milwaukee.

The hotel was conveniently located near Milwaukee Public Market. Upon arrival, we were welcomed by the staffs who were friendly and attentive. The building had a good size gym and the executive lounge was warm and welcoming. We liked that the room was clean and the beds were comfortable. Will return again!

The staff were all so helpful! Made my hectic stay so much easier They brought me things when needed They didn't mind questions even late at night Close to downtown Thanks for caring!! Would come again!! Please upgrade the coffee other than that all great

Superbly managed hotel, very clean, friendly helpful staff. Rooms were great and restaurant outstanding. Kyle at the front desk was the best. I was there with my daughter for a Volleyball tournament. A lot of great restaurants around the area as well.

The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, particularly Ben Boland, who helped us prepare for an ordered in dinner of Lou Malnati’s pizza. The bed and room chairs were quite comfortable and everything was clean. Overall, a great place to stay.
