The whole hotel is in need of updates badly, when met at the front desk I was greated by a snarky young man that at first seemed pleasant but during check-in became very sarcastic and rude. I made reservations for two rooms that were supposed to be connected and didn’t happen, while getting rooms situated I had asked if they could be connected and was barely acknowledged if they had even bothered to look, the 2nd room was under another friends name and i forgot i reserved it that way cause it was made months prior… i had confirmation emails so we figured it out pretty quickly what happened, but the desk person had very poor and sarcastic comments instead of just letting it go and being understanding about the mistake.
When we made it to the rooms (at the back end of a long hotel) the keys didn’t work so we had to go back to the desk to resolve the issue which escalated to getting the manager involved. The desk person really needs people interaction training cause what could have de-escalated a frustrating situation they were adding to it with sarcasm, snarky comments and just plain rudeness.
The manager however was a completely different breed of employee… he was very pleasant and helpful, we changed rooms completely and were given connected rooms as requested, he helped carry baggage to the room since the elevator was too small for the carts provided by hotel and made sure keys worked on the doors. Very thankful for his efforts and he is very deserving of his title.
