Hostal Avalon

We don’t live far away but thought we’d stay over for Valentine’s evening as we were booked into the restaurant for dinner. Avalon is a very short drive from central Nerja in Punta Laura. Our room, 8, was lovely, brilliant views from the large terrace, comfortable bed and large bathroom with shower. Alix is a brilliant host and Kevin a fabulous chef. We had a delicious dinner and drinks in the restaurant followed by a lovely breakfast. Considering the room cost 90€ with breakfast included this is great value for money.

We had a small family birthday dinner (5 people). Our table had an excellent position on the terrace overlooking the coastline. Despite other diners being around us, the impression was of almost dinning alone such was the lack of noise. A rarity in this day and age. Service was impeccable and yet so personal and friendly. The menu held an interesting selection giving food for thought on what to choose. All agreed the food was excellent. A rare and special evening out made perfect by the impressive professional and thoughtful service. Incredibly value also. Well done.

We ate there several times, but found it less then previously. The required table at reservation with sea views was at the end of the terrace with zero views. They fixed that by creating a solution on the second row. My choice of the asparagus and later the estofado was disappointing. No “special” taste at all. The staff was nit in best mood either not doing good at the lack of atmosphere. Hope they will be able to catch up and get back in the top 10

Avalon you are so beautiful! We have loved our stay. Beautiful views, delicious breakfasts, wonderful dinner of wild boar in rioja enjoyed on the terrace. Alix and her staff are amazing. Helpful, kind and caring. Nothing too much trouble. Thankyou for a wonderful stay. Just perfect.

We stayed at Hotel Avalon for 7 nights in May and it was the highlight of our trip. The staff was so welcoming and professional. The room was romantic, very clean, with all the amenities. The breakfast was amazing and being able to have lunch or dinner at the restaurant was so convenient. The walk down to the beach or into town were both easy walks. Highly recommend.

We have just returned from our second holiday staying at the Avalon, This time a short weekend away! Yet again it was brilliant, the room we had was comfortable and had great amenities. The view was stunning looking out to the sea. Breakfast is included, we both loved the Vegan breakfast but also had the English and omelets. My Fiancé is gluten free and they had gluten free bread for her as well great homemade bread for myself. Alix and the team make us feel so welcome every time we stay and we are already looking forward to coming back later in the year.

Today I had a wonderful lunch with friends at the Avalon. As a vegetarian, I chose the vegan tapas. Not only was this an amazing selection of beautifully prepared food, it was accompanied by a delicious salad, a delicate explosion of flavours and colours. The staff are extremely efficient, helpful and friendly, which just adds to the enjoyment of being there.

The Avalon restaurant is an elegant, warm and wonderful place to eat. And Christmas Day was no exception, the food was phenomenal. Kevin created a beautiful menu and each course was deliciously mouthwatering. The staff were amazingly attentive and very professional, it was clear from beginning to end that their aim was to make Christmas Day special. I cannot recommend this place enough, such a warm and welcoming environment

The Avalon Hotel is a pearl. A house with character, spacious rooms with terrace and sea view. You can find the good taste of the owners from the decoration to the delicacies that come out of the kitchen. Everything there breathes simplicity and harmony, as much as intelligence and sensitivity. Well done! L'hôtel Avalon est une vraie merveille. Une maison de caractère, des chambres spacieuses avec terrasse et vue sur la mer. On déguste le bon goût des propriétaires depuis la décoration jusqu'aux délices qui sortent de la cuisine. Tout y respire simplicité et harmonie, autant dire intelligence et sensibilité. Bravo!
