1692 Wasdale

We had the perfect stay at 1692 Wasdale, couldn’t recommend enough! One of the best places we’ve stayed at! The room was so lovely, it had everything we needed and more, was so nice to enter upon homemade biscuits and chocolates . We were in the Herdwick Suite (top floor) and had lovely views! Loved the alpacas , so cute ! The honesty bar was great, it was nice to be able to get a drink whenever we fancied and lots of choice too! We went in the hot tub for the two nights and wow, the views of the mountains ⛰️ are stunning, even the pond behind and watching the sunset . We also loved getting some of the cake that was free for us, it was delicious and was lovely to have whenever we felt like, we had ours with a lovely cuppa ☕️ , we even turned down dessert at the restaurants so we could have the cake . Breakfast was the best we’ve ever had, I loved the fresh bread, fruit and the full English was amazing! . Thank you to all the staff for making our stay so enjoyable, we felt so welcomed and at home. We would love to return in future when we come back to the Lakes. Thanks again! Georgina & Tom

An Amazing Stay at 1692 Wasdale! Our stay at 1692 Wasdale was truly exceptional. The room was immaculate—spotlessly clean, beautifully presented and filled with thoughtful little touches like cotton wool, face wash etc. Breakfast each morning was a real highlight, with a wide variety on offer: everything from yoghurts and fresh fruit to delicious, freshly cooked options. One standout feature was the shower—it was genuinely one of the best I’ve ever experienced! Although the coffee machine in our room wasn’t working, Faith was fantastic—she promptly checked the machine and then kindly made us a fresh coffee elsewhere, which was much appreciated. Highly recommended for a peaceful, high-quality getaway in the Lakes!

A breathtaking location, with stylish and well-appointed rooms. Whilst the views of Wasdale may be best enjoyed from either the hot tub or the garden, the whole experience is well thought out and the details carefully planned. The generous sized rooms, large communal lounge and dining room are all furnished with care and a careful eye for detail. The variety of cooked breakfast options were expertly prepared and the cold buffet was beautifully presented. The little touches in rooms including the range of coffees and teas or cakes on arrival and the wide variety of drinks available in the bar all gave the stay an extra air of luxury. Faith and her team do their utmost to provide a relaxing stay with the care of experienced professionals and a willingness to go the extra mile. If you are looking for a luxurious, quiet and stylish place to stay with excellent food and high-quality accommodation then this is hard to beat.

Amazing! Our son bought us this as part of our 30th wedding anniversary year long celebrations. I chose 1692 as my friend proposed to his [now wife] there & recommended it. Unbeknownst to me, my Four in a Bed mad hubby had this saved in his top 5, even down to the room I chose, (we never tell each other where we’re going when we book our little UK getaways). Needless to say he was buzzing, especially when he got a photo with super friendly hosts Steve & Allard, the father & son featured in FIAB. The location is peaceful, beautiful & the deepest lake in England, Wastwater is just down the road. Watch out for the sheep! It was lovely returning to our superb room after a day exploring. Very clean, fabulous brekkie with lots of choice. The honesty bar is a great idea and very reasonable. Sitting in the hot tub gazing at the mountains was sublime. The ONE thing I personally needed was a bedside table or shelf. I had to use the chair to put my iPad on so I could read before sleeping. Highly recommended and would love to visit again in the future.

Superb location, rooms, breakfast and honesty bar, the owners are so friendly helpful and have an amazing set up. The rooms are faultless, Wi-Fi, TV, Nespresso machine and brew facilities. The breakfast options are extensive to say the least, the cooked breakfast is huge and delicious, the alpacas are beautiful and a nice distraction on the way in and out. Excellent lounge and an honesty bar which is better stocked than my local :), lovely wines and the cakes are to die for…really can’t fault it just need find a child for weekend to book next trip.
