This was our 2nd hotel on our trip in Switzerland. To be completely fair if the weather had not been so hot and some other factors had not happened our stay might had been different. However! Arrived at the hotel to a building site at the side of the hotel, diggers and massive machinery doing major road and path works. The hotel is on a very busy car park with a large church, also a few little bars as well. I had seen other reviews about the noise and how the hotel supplies ear plugs, but we weren’t expecting this level of noise. First impression were not great. Room was basic, boring and old fashioned, with vinyl flooring not wooden as described. No kettle or coffee facilities in room and nowhere to make one. When I spoke to the receptionist and said I wasn’t happy about this, she did manage to sort me a kettle, but I had to get cups, spoons from the dining room and buy the stuff I needed to make a coffee. It was 35c when I was here and the hotel is like an oven. No air con anywhere and staff were sweating so bad and you could see them struggling. Our room was at the front overlooking the carpark/ outdoors restaurant area and church. we couldn't even open our windows late at night when everyone had left the restaurant because the church (dongs) every hour on the hour, it was like the bell was in our room. The Dyson fan in our room had been used that much it was blowing out warm air and pointless. The hotel needs a massive refurbish get rid of the strained carpets and old decor. Creepy 2 person glass lift and very old fashion dining room. The ground floor bar restaurant was nice, and was full with locals. The local school graduation was held the night we stayed so around 60-80 teenagers with their parents were there outside the hotel waiting to go in and then in the main function room of the hotel so you can imagine the noise. Dint sleep most the night from the heat and noise, lots of guests were going outside for fresh air until the early hours. This was when we noticed a sign on the closed reception saying something like (reception closed, will open at 6.30am) so I think only the guests were in the building, the reception was all locked up and I dint see any security or staff all night, I have never seen this before in any hotel were they lock up and leave. In the morning the poor receptionist got an ear full from most the guests. Then to make the morning for everyone even worse the road works started digging around 7am. we went for breakfast which was ok, again no aircon anywhere. By 8am we left. Just one thing after another, was it just a bad experience for us?!?!?
