Great Place to Stay near Grandfather Mountain The house is clean and comfortable, inside and out. The house has everything you need to enjoy a week's stay. The owner is great and helpful if you need anything. Walking distance to coffee, pastries, and ice cream at Big Mike's. Also walking distance to the community swimming pool which is very clean and well-managed. Only a 12-minute commute to the top of Grandfather Mountain. Central location to all the other towns around the area like Linville and Boone. There's a great Mexican restaurant a 2-minute drive into town. The only thing is that the internet package is a very slow one. 45Mbps download, and up to 2 on the upload. We were not able to do any work from this house, and when we tried to stream or download, you could only use one device at a time in the house. This is not an issue at all if you're on vacation and going to be out enjoying yourselves during your stay. We look forward to staying again in the future if we get a chance.

Cozy, clean cottage! Cozy, clean cottage...very cute and comfortable! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We were only about 5 miles from Sugar Mountain, which was nice because we went skiing. Host was easily accessible. Highly recommend.

Cozy mountain cottage, super comfy bed We loved this place, it was exactly what we were looking for and expecting. Having just one bathroom sure was a challenge for 6 adults, but we managed. The place is conveniently located, just 15 minutes from Sugar Mountain, walking distance from a CVS and a short drive from the town’s well-stocked supermaket. There isn’t much to do in town, but all the area’s main attractions are just a short drive away. Quick recommendation: download the area map on your gps of choice before heading there from the city, chances are you’ll lose connection on the mountain for a while and a wrong turn could get you far from your destination.
