Sakatia Lodge

We spent a week at the lodge to experience the Diving in Madagascar, we had flights from Mauritius via Reunion to Nosy Be. After that we were transferred to Sakatia. We were welcomed by the owners Jose and Isabella who gave us a rundown of how things worked and dietary requirements. we were then invited out on the boat to go snorkeling about 500m offshore and wow we found Big green turtles grazing on the sea grass. They were not perturbed by the snorkelers. The laws of the ocean must be applied where you watch but don't touch. Getting back to the lodge we found Lemurs in the trees feasting on the mangos. So, within the first two hours nature treated us. The dive team spoilt us, and we did 11 dives during our stay. Special shout out to the diving team, thank you for sharing your world with us.

If you're looking for a truly unique and environmentally-conscious vacation, Sakatia Lodge in Madagascar is an excellent choice. The lodge, located on the picturesque island of Nosy Sakatia, offers a variety of accommodations ranging from traditional bungalows to luxurious beachfront villas. Our stay in one of the Mango bungalows was amazing, the view was breathtaking and the staff were very friendly and helpful. We literally had lemurs eating the mangos in the tree nest out hut. We were so impressed by the lodge's dedication to sustainable tourism and marine conservation. They offer a variety of activities that allow guests to explore the island's rich marine life, including snorkelling and diving. The dive instructors were Lucy and Georgia, we have never met more calming and passionate girls. They really made our stay feel so relaxing. We went on a whale shark excursion and it was mind blowing! Whilst mindfully awaiting the whale sharks we were lucky enough to swim with some passing Giant Ocean Manta. A moment we will never forget. The local snorkelling was amazing, we saw a lot of different kind of fish and coral. But the highlight was being able to swim with green turtle just off the shore line. A whole conservation area right on the lodges doorstep. The food was delicious, with a mix of local and international cuisine. I highly recommend trying the seafood dishes, but to be honest the surprise style of dining was agin so unique. The staff were also very accommodating to any dietary requirements. Overall, we had an amazing experience at Sakatia Lodge and we would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a unique and eco-friendly vacation. The lodge is a great place for nature lovers and for those who want to experience the beauty of Madagascar in a responsible and sustainable way. Prachtig gelegen in een baai op het eiland Nosy Sakatia. Eigen duikschool, mooie huisjes waar in je overnacht. Ze een goede keuken en denken met je mee als je evt wat anders wilt eten. Mensen zijn betaald de rest in Madagaskar ongelofelijk vriendelijk en hulpzaam. Een paar leidinggevende zijn Italiaans. Mooi strand en goede ligbedden. Ook kameleons op het eiland en Lemuren maar die hebben we niet gezien.
