Fort Murchison Lodge by Nature Lodges Ltd

Great location, very well maintained, large rooms with balcony. Excellent restaurant and bar, varied and good food. The garden is very nice, a lots of birds can be observed; the staff is always attentive, smiling and helpful without being too intrusive.

Lovely place with los of flowers in the garden.The meals are delicius , the view is great and the staff is very friendly.rooms and cleaning also excellent with great beds which are so confortable after long game drive hope to come back some time.

We loved our stay at fort murchison lodge. We had a long and hot journey and on our arrival the staff brought us cold towels and a cold fruit juice, we were amazed by this warm welcome. I also have coeliac disease (allergy to gluten) and on arrival one of the first questions asked was whether any of the guests had allergies. After explaining my allergy I was reassured that the meals could be adapted and that they would prepare the food separately to prevent cross contamination. For the staff to mention allergies and cross contamination without me having to raise this was really impressive as it is rare in Uganda. The food was delicious, the chef really knows his flavours, and I did not feel I was missing out by being gluten free. The staff were also really friendly and we felt well looked after. You can have breakfast from 5:30am which is useful for early morning game drives. Also they can prepare packed lunches for you which cost around 30,000 shillings. This is an ideal lodge for a safari/game drive and could not recommend it more. Beautiful grounds and lovely pool. Be warned that the road to the lodge is very bumpy and so if you get car sickness you need to be prepared for this.
