Hermosa Cove Villa Resort & Suites

My husband and I spent seven nights in the Calabash House at Hermosa Cove. I can't say enough about the wonderful staff who were super helpful and happy to assist in any way. Shaneil, in Guest Services, was fantastic. Our driver, Rashan, was so nice (and hilarious!) and very accommodating. The Calabash House villa has a nice view from its second story wrap-around porch. We spent most evenings with a cocktail, gazing out at the beautiful Caribbean Sea. The villa was very clean and comfortable and daily maid service is included. The resorts grounds are gorgeous and well-maintained. There are multiple paths in and around the resort, all lush with tropical plantings and many spots to sit by the beach and take in the views. The three-tiered pool with running waterfall is amazing, also with great views of the ocean. We were thrilled to see hummingbirds and parrots every day. A few suggestions for your stay at Hermosa Cove: - Take advantage of the hotel's offer to pre-stock your villa! There are no grocery stores within walking distance of the resort and to hire a driver runs $40 per trip. They'll stock beer, wine, alcohol, juices, lunch meats, bread, snacks, etc., pretty much anything you'd get in a U.S. grocery store. - Bring cash in small denominations for tips! While tipping is not required at the hotel, the service often warrants it. We were able to find an ATM while out with a driver (whom we tipped each trip) but it wasn't easy. Tipping is more expected if you use a guide at Dunns River Falls (definitely go!) or other attractions. You can tip or buy anything with U.S. dollars in Jamaica. (Note that you do not need cash to tip at the resort's restaurants.) - Bring plenty of sunscreen! The HC resort doesn't have a sundries shop and the local grocery store (while quite nice) had only one bottle of zinc-based sunscreen.

It’s hard to fully capture the experience of Hermosa Cove in words. You kind of just have to be there. But you feel it as soon as you start down the entry road and tranquility and human sounds quiet so that birdsong and waves can be heard. The beauty in the intersection of creativity and art with nature is immediately striking, and amplifies when you turn into the resort. From the architecture to the diverse flora to the many, many sweet and unique spaces tucked everywhere, peace and beauty permeate. The welcome feels genuine and the staff manage to be absolutely supportive but never intrusive. And the reef! So much ocean wildlife in their protected reef right off the shore. It’s a special place I hope you get to experience.

The Grant family had an amazing stay at Hermosa Cove, it lived up to our expectations and far beyond. The staff was extraordinary...Klent, Elvis, Shanell, Roadian, David, Famous and the owners Melissa and Rob, and everyone else at the resort that I may have forgot. Not only was the hospitality next level, but we also made some new life long friends! This place felt like home and our casita/accommodations were more than comfortable. We hung out at the beach or pool daily and you had to twist our arm to leave. We're still basking in the memories of our vacation and can't wait to go back. Hope to see everyone again soon! Irie! This was our second stay at Hermosa Cove and it truly is like coming home. The staff was warm and inviting upon arrival and during the entire duration of our stay. Hermosa Cove is a natural resort with modern cottages that are well equipped. You will not find loud music and overcrowded pools here. The environment is tranquil yet lively with bird activity. The coves are very swimmable and nothing is better than floating in the warm Caribbean. Downtown Ochi is a fun, exciting place if you would like to shop at the fruit/veggie market or the crafters market.

This was my second major occasion held at Hermosa Cove; discovered this resort in 2017 and have been coming back regularly since. After having a successful and beautiful beach wedding in October 2018 that was executed brilliantly by Hermosa's awesome staff, I decided to have my significant birthday at this resort. My birthday event featured the infamous Hermosa Cove BBQ, a Tea Party at the Sea Biscuit villa, a Bourbon & Whiskey event at the Nautilus villa, the Beach Picnic on the Cove Beach, the Birthday Party Dinner on the 2nd floor of Christopher's (main restaurant), and the finale--a Jamaican-style dinner at the Broken Rudder (outdoor restaurant). As a result of all the unique events, my guests were extremely delighted; half of whom were at the wedding in 2018, and half who were amazed first-time guests. Hermosa Cove Villas and Resort has the most dedicated staff, many who have been with the resort for 10+ yrs. Special kudos to Klent & Danielle (office), Elvis (the go-to guy), Chef Conroy and other special people in housekeeping, wait staff, water sports and groundskeepers. Whenever you make your visit to Hermosa Cove Villas & Resort, you will understand and appreciate the uniqueness of this property.

Everything is amazing! Hermosa Cove is such a peaceful place to visit. There's always something new to see, and the familiar views are still breathtaking. There's no place quite like it. All the trees, treehouses, and the beach remind me of a top-notch Swiss Family Robinson getaway. The people are quite welcoming, the place is clean, and the food is delicious! Members of our group snorkeled, kayaked, napped, and enjoyed the views. I can't wait to return!
