Lago Hotel

This was our first time at Lake Ohrid and we were very pleased that we had chosen the Lago Hotel for our week’s stay. The small hotel is new, modern, stylish and spotlessly clean throughout and we found the staff to be unfailingly pleasant and helpful. Our room was very comfortable and had a large balcony, with a stunning view of the beautiful lake. The restaurant was excellent, both for breakfast and dinner and meals and drinks are very reasonably priced. Taxis into Ohrid are plentiful and costs about €5-€7 for the 15 minute journey. There is also a somewhat unpredictable bus service. Ohrid town is very pretty, full of character with a great choice of restaurants, decent shopping and interesting sights. Lake Ohrid is truly stunning and our holiday exceeded our expectations in every way. We will definitely return.

This is a hidden GEM ... Visit before everyone else does! The Hotel is super clean, friendly, small and is opposite the Lake , with a private beach and free beds and Umbrellas ( not all hotels here offer this). Our room overlooked the lake and the wonders of sunrise and sunset was inspirational. The staff are very friendly. Beach towels provided and a very clean pool too ! Breakfast was buffet style daily , plenty of room in the restaurant overlooking the lake. The rooms are modern , clean with everything you need and want. I would almost certainly return ...

Stayed here for 7 nights , great little hotel, our room ,28, 2nd floor, lake view was lovely, fridge with daily complimentary water,comfortable beds and pillows, plenty of storage space with free safe ,nice shower/toilet area, TV with plenty of English channels including films if you're having an early night ,the pool area is only small with I think 12 sunbeds but it's nice , breakfast was OK, mostly continental but there are fried eggs,bacon and omelette, the food in the restraunt of an evening was amazing, we ate there 3 nights it was that good, the staff at this hotel are so friendly and welcoming from the maids to manager so thank you all for making our stay so good , The lake across the road is fantastic, it's actually warmer than the hotel pool, loads of sunbeds ,free, and a bar for food and drinks , chicken fingers were nice as we're the Gyros , there is a small shop about 5 minutes walk from the hotel but go the back way up the hill apart from that nothing else around, I would recommend this hotel and I would definitely return here , it is a taxi /bus ride into Orhid but that is a minor inconvenience.

Amazing restaurant Experience. Highly recommended. We didn’t stay at the hotel, but went in the restaurant by recommendation. They told us the restaurant was recently opened and not too much exposed, probably the best in town. Top quality food, especially the fish and the traditional starter. Service was great, big compliments to the staff, thank you for everything. Will definitely visit again

Staid here for one night while in the region. It is a very nice, small, modern hotel with very good service both at reception and bar/restaurant area. We had absolutely no problem with that parz. Rooms are modern and solidly furbished, with a couple of flawd, specofically too small bathroom and AC that does not run without the room key which id a bit strange. Breakfast was good, with solid choice but I did expect a bit more in terms of quality. The beach is very close, which is nice, the beach bar should ne upgraded though. All together a very solid hotel near Ohrid not too expensive that I might visit again.

We had an amazing week at the Lago Hotel. We had lovely lake view rooms, where we could retreat to when we needed to escape the sunshine! The free sunbeds and towels at the beach were great (but busy at the weekend). Pool looks beautiful, but with a huge lake, we decided to swim and sit there each day. The staff were very cheery and helpful, especially the girl in reception and the lad at the beach. Our cleaner did a grand job, always very respectful. Food at breakfast was good (but could be hit and miss when you arrived as to whether the fried eggs were nice and hot or stone cold). Always some fresh fruit, meat, cheese, eggs and bread. We ate at the restaurant a couple of times and the food was good quality and similar prices as the other village restaurants. The road can be busy at the height of summer but that's certainly not the hotels fault - you couldn't hear it from the room. We would happy to return - we felt that the location was perfect for us -out of the way of Ohrid but a taxi/bus trip away. Very quiet at night. Overall, if you want a relaxing holiday on a beach with nice rooms and good food, then I'd recommend this hotel!
