Hotel de Magneet

I had a pleasant 3 night stay at this hotel. The staff was very welcoming and focused on meeting guests' needs. Being able to do the check in before the usual time was highly appreciated. The room was clean and well-equipped. The location, close to the city center and the main tourist attractions represents a considerable benefit of this hotel.

This small hotel "De Magneet" in Hoorn is wonderful - the atmosphere is family-like, the owner and his wife are more than friendly (as the whole staff). The breakfast is fresh and very good. The rooms are simple but clean. The best is the boatstour with Rob (the hotel owner, a great guy); it is a wonderful experience to go by boat with Rob as the skipper and to have a beer in the boat while leaving Hoorn and entering the Ijsselmeer. We always go to "De Magneet" at least once a year.

Lovely place, excellent location. But above all awesome service. The owner even dropped us at the train station with our bike bags! Would not recommend any other place in hoorn. Hospitality was great willing to go the extra mile and help. Its also very safe and secure

We stayed here 1 night for a party in the center, which is just a 5 minute walk away. The host was very welcoming and provided excellent service. Even my bicycle was taken care of by putting it in a safe place. Breakfast was good and plenty. Another plus is the free parking spots just 50 meters from the hotel. Beds are comfortable, shower good enough. Room 14 is a bit small though, but for a one night stay it shouldn't bother you. However, for longer stays it might become an issue.

Loved our stay at Hotel de Magneet . Hoorn is a charming city and a very convenient location for exploring Old Holland, The Zuiderzee Museum and is also very close to Amsterdam by bus or train. The modern hotel is located a short walk to the bus and train station . The room was located in the garden and was quiet, clean and comfortable . The bathroom was very clean with a bath and all amenities. The included breakfast was extensive with both hot and cold options . It was served buffet style in a newly renovated and sunny restaurant area. The room also had a kettle and a TV. The owners were very helpful with recommendations and always on hand to answer any questions. There are lots of cafes and restaurants close by in the main square and the harbour.

My wife and I stayed for two nights and arrived by train. It was a 15 minute walk from the train. We stopped for lunch in town on the way and the oath took us along the canals. Then we explored the harbor area, which is very close. During our stay we traveled by train to Enkhuizen to their history museum. We also explored the Westfries Museum, which is very close to the hotel. This is all to say that the hotel was in the midst of it all. The breakfast was very nice, and our room was everything we needed. Clean and neat. The public toilets are the best we have seen in the Netherlands! Now, we must share that we also received such personal attention during our stay. We were given a free tour booklet that the hotel has developed as a walking tour for the town. It was in English, and we enjoyed finding history that we did not hear in other places we visited. They were keen to keep our bags the last morning after checkup while we visited the museum. You should also ask about a special Havenbitter liquor that is made by the hotel. All in all, it was an incredible experience. Proost!
