This 4 bedroom 2 bath remodeled home is surrounded by 25 acres of grass fields with 1,000 feet bordering the beautiful Dan River. Imagine splashing in the cool water. Go for a leisurely walk down the 3/4 mile - low traffic gravel lane. At night sit on the porch and listen to the tranquil sounds of the river, do a little stargazing or grill your favorite steak, sit around the firepit or picnic table. When you go inside you can relax by the electric fireplace with someone special. Read, watch Roku TV, play chess or checkers. There's plenty of space with 4 bedrooms, and a playroom with a futon that folds out to make a double bed. Two full bathrooms, one on the main level and one upstairs. Bring the family, play a yard game, shoot a few hoops or relax and enjoy the peace and quiet for your next vacation or just a few days to rest and recharge. You deserve a nice get-away. Celebration of Life
My siblings and I were there from Missouri for my father’s Celebration of Life. The Dan River property was just what the doctor ordered: peaceful and serene. The property is a perfect private hideaway with room to move and think. The home housed myself and my five siblings comfortably…very homey with loads of charm and character. I hope this property is available every time I plan to visit the Ararat area!

Quite and peaceful
We really enjoyed our stay at Dan River house. It was myself, husband and 85 year old mother. We enjoyed having our coffee in the morning on front porch listening to river. And in the evening watching the turkeys and at night the lighting bugs haven’t seen them in a long time. Thanks again Estelle for letting us stay.

Home away from home
Such a peaceful location. The house was well stocked' very roomy and comfortable. We will definitely make a return visit in the future.

Family Getaway
This house was perfect for 4 couples. It was so peaceful and quiet. You could hear Dan River when sitting on the porch. We were close enough to everything. They had games and things for children as well. I would highly recommend this house to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway. Thanks for sharing your house with us.

Mount Airy adventure
We loved the area so much. The house was perfect. Festival was in town . Bonus. Loved the Blue ridge mountain parkway.
We ate out a couple of times. Made breakfast, an 2 dinners lots of fun playing cards in the evening. Perfect weekend getaway. Our host Estella was very helpful. Thanks Teresa

Enjoyed our stay, smell of sulfur in the water, however bottled water was furnished for drinking and tooth washing. Mattresses could be improved. Relaxing beautiful home in perfect location. We would stay again.

Nice get away
Of course I’m from the country so this location is ideal for me. Nice and quiet. Beautiful setting. And the restored farmhouse was really done well.

Relaxing
