Oceans 5 Dive Resort

Amazing dive center. I did my Padi open water here at the end of August. It was a beautiful experience. People working there are really nice and the vibes even while training for getting the Padi are really relaxed and everyone is really open to help you. Thank you also to my Amazing teacher Chika for this beautiful experience

So far the hotel & the hotel service was good, but not the dive part which is for me was a buzzkill my entire mood for diving. Which for my fellow Indonesians, who’s from Jakarta or other cities in Indonesia, I do not recommend it to take a Diving course here. I came to learn, but instead this horrible thing happened to me with local instructor, named Ary. - First before we went down to the water, one of the girls I forgot her name, she helped me, and Ary said “don’t help her she’s certified” I mean why would I say no to people who wanted to help me, and I’m still amateur, I forgot. I didn’t feel good. Seeing what happened in front of me. - Then Ary said about check list the colour that I see on that depth. The question. And while we were down, I checked list the colour that I saw. And he said wrong. Fill all the boxes colour, which I remembered he said you should fill the colour box that you see underwater, not all. - Then I said before we were down, I said to him “I’m afraid that I can’t keep up with my bouyancy cause sometimes I go up of sudden”and he said that “I will pull you down, that’s my job to help you with that” - And while we were underwater, after the colour box question, he said that “Cancel the dive” and I was shocked, cause he wasn’t that patient like he wanted to go in rush with the pro team. It’s pretty different what I learned from Jakarta & Bali, they were patient to me, even to other students, but I wondered what happened with this one. I touched the rope flag safety check which I knew I was wrong but he hit my hand. I mean it’s been 6 months I haven’t dive, and I’m human I forgot but the way he treated me. I can’t accept that. Horrible. - Then he pressed my bcd, that made me went up that fast, I was supposed to do the safety stop. I just kept wondering why. - He kept telling me he was nervous to speak Bahasa, I mean he’s Indonesian, and he can use English to me, I’m not that stupid with English and if there is a word I don’t know the meaning I will ask. It’s funny. - I wanted to change the instructor but I just didn’t want make any trouble with the team, make it drama, so I chose to cancel my study. The girls were pretty gentle to me, polite & nice, profesional, but not with Ary, he told everyone about my awareness, and self control, I chose to be silent cause I was still processing what just happened underwater. And I said Blank. They just mocked me. I mean it’s rude. I will never forget that. I came here I wanted to learn. It’s so horrible. I’m sorry & correct me if I’m wrong, but I will not highly recommenced it to my Jakarta Friends or even Indonesian I mean. I dive in Jakarta it was fine, in Bali also was fine but in Lombok, horrible. You know he said mean stuff. I talked to the manager. I just can’t tolerate that disrespect behavior. Esp a male disrespects a female. And instead being negative, so I chose to enjoy myself on the island and remove myself from the negativity.

My father, his friend and I had an amazing diving experience with Ocean 5 Dive! The whole team was super professional, friendly, and made the entire experience feel fun and easy-going. The dive site Bounty Wreck we explored was absolutely stunning – beautiful corals, a wide variety of marine life, and crystal-clear water. I highly recommend Ocean 5 Dive to anyone looking for a dive experience in Gili Air. Thank you!

I had a fantastic experience doing a Discover Dive with Ocean 5. I would really recommend this to all beginners, it was clear safety was a huge priority and I felt very comfortable throughout. The whole team were friendly and made this a wonderful first experience. Yunus, the instructor, was a great teacher, patient, kind and fun!

Hello! I had an amazing time diving with Oceans 5! I did my open water certification and deep dive with Tama and i can say he is a great professional and even more amazing person! He made me feel safe and confident and answered patiently my infinite questions. I also dived with Yani and met other divers of Oceans 5, everyone was very professional, friendly and our boat drives to the diving spots very fun! I will miss my time there! Thank you :) Ourania

We stayed and dived at Oceans 5 in April 2025 as a group of 11 people including 12 year old kids and teenagers. Oceans 5 staff, guides and dive masters were all exceptional. Our group included young divers with less than 20 dives under their belts through to those who'd completed thousands of dives. The operation was extremely safety focused such that even our youngest divers developed their confidence enough to try night diving for the first time. Staff were very engaging, and we all felt we departed as friends. Accommodation was very comfortable and we're glad we made the decision to stay at Oceans 5. The non-divers in the group (1 broke his arm in the weeks prior to the trip) found plenty to do and 3 of them completed Discover Scuba courses at Oceans 5 with some instructor led dives. They now plan to complete Open Water certifications. Dive variety was good and it was excellent how Oceans 5 were able to accommodate differing competency levels on every dive. We're currently planning a return trip, returning in greater numbers with other diving families.
