Hotel Peralada Wine Spa & Golf

I chose this property after a lot of research—not for the golf, but because it offers a Michelin-starred restaurant, an in-house spa, and its own winery. Before arrival, I confirmed via email that the restaurants could accommodate vegan options. The drive up the winding road revealed a beautiful property, even in the rain. Parking was complimentary and plentiful, and we made our way into the lobby with our bags. Though a bellman offered assistance, we were already inside. The lobby had a lovely setup of infused water, cava, and snacks, though none of it was actually offered at check-in. Check-in itself was pleasant, and our king room was quiet, comfortable, and overlooked the pool and grounds. Natura Bissé toiletries, robes, and slippers were thoughtful touches, and we appreciated how peaceful the room felt. Wanting to make the most of our one-night stay, we headed to the 19th Bar around 5:30 p.m. for snacks and drinks, only to learn the kitchen was closed. The small lounge had no available seating—tables were reserved or pushed together for groups—so we returned to the lobby to regroup. When we inquired about the Michelin restaurant and winery, we learned they were offsite in town (contrary to our understanding) and that the restaurant was fully booked. We did manage to secure spa access and a dinner reservation at L’Olivera. Back at the bar, we were allowed to sit at the counter for a quick glass of wine before heading to the spa. Unfortunately, the spa experience was anything but relaxing: despite posted limits and designated family hours, the space was crowded with loud, splashing children. Even in separate rooms, the noise carried. We ended up leaving and shared our concerns with the hotel. Dinner at L’Olivera was equally disappointing at first. For 25 minutes we sat ignored—no water, menus, or greeting—while every other table received attentive service. The manager visited every table but ours. When a young waitress finally came by, she worked with the chef to create vegan dishes, though it was clear our dietary notes never reached the kitchen. Despite the rough start, Chef Eduardo ultimately prepared thoughtful plant-based dishes, including a vegetable paella and pasta, and he, along with Juan and the manager, checked in afterward. We thanked them sincerely, though we couldn’t help but imagine how much better the experience could have been if proper communication had been in place. Breakfast the next morning was much better: a bright dining space, excellent service, and abundant options. Sitting outside after the rain lifted was a highlight. We then returned for a rebooked spa visit, this time hoping for a calmer experience. Sadly, the peace didn’t last—once again, children and loud family members disrupted the space. To her credit, Yvette at the spa desk eventually stepped in, and we finally had some quiet. Our treatments afterward redeemed the experience somewhat. Our stay at Hotel Peralada was exceptional. The wine spa is beautifully designed and incredibly relaxing, a must-try. The pool and surrounding grounds are immaculate, creating a serene and luxurious atmosphere. The golf range and gym are top-notch amenities that added a lot to the experience. A special mention to the bellhop, Sawan (spelling?), who was helpful and professional throughout our stay. Breakfast is an additional cost but well worth it: fresh, high-quality selections in a lovely setting. The nearby town, castle, and winery are all well worth a visit and give the area a unique charm.

We loved the property, highly recommended. The grounds are amazingly beautiful and the dining options were great. Very close to beach areas of Llanca, Roses and Cadaques as well! We hope to be back soon!

Wonderful place I love d the place and I will come back next year

We have had a lovely stay at this hotel in november , celebrating our wedding anniversary. The spa is very relaxing , complete with sauna, steamroom and jacuzzi. Breakfast was excellent , great variety of products , good coffee and service. A big shout out to our cleaning lady who was very friendly.
