The Chesapeake Inn

Enjoyed a quiet short stay in this small harbor town inn which is a close walking distance to numerous neat shops, good restaurants & historic homes & sites. Inn, located dead center town, was recently renovated, has high ceilings, large rooms & very nice fixtures. Our room was very comfortable. Room had all goodies you would like so you wouldn't need to go out in a pinch. Inn keepers Gari & Matt were fantastic & very responsive to several requests. Inn has an adjacent high end gift shop, Ballroom Barefoot, with a great wide selection. Highly recommend this inn which is comfortable & relaxing. Plan to return soon. A bit of advice is that the stop signs downtown mean stop!

We had a great time. The place is beautifully decorated and comfortable. It was clean (despite the dogs being allowed—a dish and bed were set up as if pet guests were the default), and the snacks and sports equipment were appreciated. The kayaking (thanks for the ride!) and Surrey bike were fun. It is in the perfect location for visiting Urbanna and Christchurch. There is a communal Keurig in the lobby room.

In a word "MAGNIFIQUE" Located off the main street in historical Urbanna you will find a gem of a retreat, an ocean-blue and white sanctuary. The courtyard is a delightful first impression with a grassy gathering area including tables, chairs, umbrellas and lawn games. Amenities include bikes and surrey carriages at no expense to explore the town. Kayaks are provided for the more adventuresome with an aquatic bent. Entering the lobby we are greeted by Rachel, a lovely young lady with a radiant smile, who has a most welcoming manner. Made us feel right at home. The Coastal Decor is chic and amazingly beautiful. There are many private areas for visiting, musing, or reading some of the large selection of fascinating books which adorn the area and help create an ambiance of style and comfort along with the complementary coffee. Did you know there are over 200 species of oysters? Be sure to visit the delightful Avery at the "Ballgown Barefoot Boutique" as a special treat before departure. There you will find a wonderful selection of gifts to remind you of your stay. Don't forget the delicious chocolate chip cookies for the trip home. Your quiet room is located across the courtyard. The rooms are anything but cookie cutter, each having an independent theme. It is obvious that Gari and Matt have an eye for beauty and a passion for detail. their love for their creation radiates throughout. You can feel their heart, soul and pride at every turn. The "Welcome Letter" was a thoughtful touch. Our suite was six star. Spotless, beautifully decorated, and impeccable in every way. The mini kitchenette furnished with snacks gave us a feeling of home. The glow from the dazzling chandelier catches your eye and provides warmth throughout. The toiletries were first class, Gilchrist and Soames. The bathrobes were sumptuous, the towels, large and fluffy. Our bedroom was the definition of "serenity." The quality soft linens and bed covering made slumber as if one were on a cloud. the pillows were perfect. Our stay was too short. Oh my! I'm just leaving having spent a weekend at the MOST CHARMING BOUTIQUE INN! MY cup overflows! What a wonderful trip! The Chesapeake Inn was just so charming, warm, and inviting. I just can't wait to get back! The owner took care in EVERY SINGLE DETAIL... I was traveling with friends and we each had a 3 room block. Each room was so obviously painstakingly decorated... and they were all DIFFERENT. WHAT A FUN SURPRISE! ONE OF OUR ROOMS was a suite and I have NEVER SEEN A RAIN SHOWER THAT GLORIOUS EVER! IT WAS both SERENE AND BEAUTIFUL. My room had a 4 poster king bed and a  tray ceiling with beadboard! What a great eye for detail.  Every space warm and inviting...I may have a a few each of the Hershey kisses and ALL PINK Starburst sitting out in the lobby.  You'll love this place as your retreat by the river..or Rivah.. it's a big debate in the quaint little town The Chesapeake Inn felt like home. No stiff front desk staff, no check in or check out times you MUST MEET, just a feeling of love and being included... ohhh and it's pet friendly too! They do reserve a few rooms pet free to accomodate those with allergies I overheard as someone was making a reservation! Outdoor seating as a great little courtyard with games. What i didn't get to was the kayaks, bikes or surreys but definately next time! I swear that sounds silly for a place that when I looked it up was classified as a motel. THIS PLACE IS NO MOTEL.. IT'S AN UPGRADED AWESOME PLACE AND I THINK IT SHOULD BE KNOWN AS A CONCIERGE BOUTIQUE INN but no idea how maps would handle that classification! Run don't walk. 

I’m a very picky traveler especially when it comes to sanitized rooms during this time of covid. The Inn has such great measures in place to ensure guests feel safe. Things from an air sanitizer in each room to no daily room service so as to not come into your space. Thank you for easing my worries, I will definitely be back!

I stayed here for one night. The suite was amazing! The shower was hot and the mini shampoo, conditioner, soap etc were absolutely luxurious!! The decor was quaint ( loved the chandelier) and everything smells really good in here!! There is also a hepa filter which is quite nice!!
