Asterion Suites & Spa - Designed for Adults

Just returned from a 10 night stay at asterion. The hotel rooms were clean and food was very good for all inclusive. Breakfast can get a little repetitive but not really sure what else they could offer! I personally didn’t like that there was only 1 set of cutlery at breakfast and the knife and fork was taken from your dirty plate and placed back on the table - I’m sure I could have asked for a fresh set with no problem but for 5 star it should just be replaced. The lunch on all inclusive is not buffet and is a menu - which we prefer. Food at lunch came out quick and hot. There are a couple of bars walking distance from the hotel which we visited and enjoyed. We caught the bus into chania and Platanias on several occasions, around €2 per travel which is very worth it. 10 mins into Platanias and 30-40 mins into chania. The hotel itself was very relaxed and not much for entertainment but that is what we wanted. The pool area was lovely although the fresh pool towels didn’t come out until late morning - we ended up keeping ours from the day before to use. There are lots of cats and dogs around the area which we had no problem with as we are animal lovers. Overall a very good stay.

Where to start? We booked for 7 nights late season for a peaceful getaway for two exhausted parents of teenagers.The holiday choice did not disappoint as everything was top notch although weather was touch and go but it was expected as out of season so not as problem in our lives. The hotel is a bit out of Chania but 3 buses an hour was adequate for when we visited, Chania is well worth a visit as it’s a beautiful place and somewhat reminiscent of Venice when your at the port side. The room was to die for! Great bed and lovely sea view as well.The rooms were impeccably clean and the ladies who clean them thoroughly deserve a tip for the hard work and care they give in their role.Breakfast was lovely and very satisfactory and everything was seasoned to perfection.Lunch was always great from the pizza to the beef wraps all to die for but….the tasty prize goes to the not so humble apple pie well this was truly out of this world! Big congrats to the chef.Dinner was buffet unless you booked a La carte which we did once and it was lovely but most evenings we were very happy just to have a small plate of dips, salads & bread and then on to George’s bar for a couple before bed.George is an absolute star! If you get the chance ask him to make you a “Zion” cocktail it’s lush! Now on to the staff who all deserve a massive congratulations for being so lovely and really making our holiday I’m really bad for names but the lady who looked after us at breakfast was so lovely and friendly she always had a massive smile for us snd and a cheery “kalimera” every morning. We hired a car with another couple and we went to the botanical gardens snd also the gorge as the views are spectacular! All in all I would highly recommend the Asterion. The pool wax also fine as we swam a few times as did others x the sea was lovely snd warm but be careful as the current is very strong and you can quickly lose control. We have just left for the airport from the most relaxing holiday ever! It’s our first time doing an adults only and it won’t be our last. From checking in to checking out, every single member of staff were attentive, friendly and helpful. The rooms, pool area and restaurants are all very clean (this is a big thing for me when going on holiday). Rooms cleaned everyday with fresh towels. Ordering drinks from your sunbed is a big win for this hotel, waiting no longer than 5 minutes for it to arrive. Thank you to you all for a wonderful holiday! X

Difficult to find fault with this one. Would point out that if you want liveliness and a loud music scene this is not for you. If you are looking for true relaxation with peace and attentive care then this is the best place. Properly chilled here. Would recommend a room with private pool which we made the best of. Great care from staff including Tasos and Milanos who looked after every need in restaurants. Great bar staff again very attentive from Gergio and Christos. Care taken to ensure allergy needs met. Straight into the beach. If there was anything then whilst they promise not to permit sun bed hogging beyond an hour this was not policed. Probably due to being small and trying to please all. Everyone we met celebrated the hotel and general environment. Will be heading back.

Just finished a Fantastic 10 days here at Asterion suite Very quiet and relaxing We had the kingdom suite which is 2 bedrooms with its own seperate lounge and a balcolny view looking down to the sea Our room was kept spotless each day by the fantastic cleaning ladies Only 1 pool but plenty of sunbeds and free towels daily to use and plenty of sunbeds on the beach The beach in front of the hotel has a promenade which you can walk along to which brings you to a couple of tavernas and supermarkets its about a 20 min walk The staff were fantastic manilos and maria in the restaurant were always pleasent and helpful i would like to mention all the staff if i had their names as they were all fantastic and always had smiles on their faces and were ready to help Breakfast buffet lovely what you expect from all inclusive full english fruit yoghurt pastries Lunch is chosen off a set menu the lunch time meals are very filling as most come withpotato wedges Evening meal is either buffet which has a good range of different foods each night or pre book in the 35 degrees restaurant which has a lovely menu to choose from Drinks are available to order from your sunbeds a really good range and named spirits are used good cocktails too There are a couple of bus stops near By if you want to venture out or there are trips available from reception that pick you up outside the hotel We did the olive oil factory and wine tasting trip its 100 euros each but a good day out with lunch included This hotel isn’t really near anywhere but is a good place to stop chill and relax Definately recommend it

George Komporakis The Asterion General Manager heads up a team who are dedicated to exceptional customer service and customer experience. The location literally 20 meters from the warm Cretan Sea is very well appointed, each room receives the highest level of attention and care from an expert team of housekeepers and customer service personnel. The main restaurant offers a wide variety of dishes to enjoy at breakfast and lunch and in the evening there is a daily changing buffet such as Greek cuisine, Italian, Mediterranean etc. I must just say a very special thank you to Manolis and Tasos for making our meal times fun, enjoyable and joyful. Additionally there is Cretan à la carte restaurant named 35°; which boasts dishes such as lobster spaghetti perfectly prepared salted baked sea bream cooked to perfection, of course Moussaka just as one would expect made from recipe handed down over the generations, Wagyu Rib Eye Steak and many other mouthwatering dishes. Chocolate Sphere, Orange Pie just two of the sumptuous desserts. There is absolutely nothing that George’s team will not do for each guest. As George told me “we employ a team of real people, who have Cretan hospitality in their DNA” This is absolutely true. Every contact with any team member is a genuine engagement with care and passion. If you want exceptional service, if you want to base yourself in a quality venue that makes touring Crete easy we had a car, but there is a good bus service The joy of staying at Asterion Suites & Spa is after a day of exploring or a night visiting Chania old town which is a must you have a sense of coming home to family and friends.
