Soho Playa Hotel

Muy buen hotel muy buena ubicación y muy buen personal,todo genial

This place was okay, however, I felt like it was lacking in some areas. The location was ok, not far from 5th Avenue, but almost a mile from the autobús ADO. The room had the basic, it was a room with a king size bed and only 1 chair but plenty of room for another chair or a couch. The tv remote did not actually turn the tv on/off, it just worked to turn on their streaming service “totalplay” I never did learn to use it and all the channels were in Spanish and did not catch my attention. It was nice that they decorated my room for my bday and there was a bottle of wine (Don Simon- about $7usd price) since I booked a VIP Premium deal. We needed ice to ice a swollen knee and the hotel did not have ice. The room also did not have a hair dryer, we had to request one and pick up from the front desk. Same with the towels, they only have us 2 and we wanted a third to use for the ice we bought from 7-11. The breakfast hours are from 9-11am (I think that’s late) so we requested to pick up early. It consisted of toast with butter and syrup (not jelly), a cup of fruit (papaya and cantaloupe) that was kinda of mushy, and a small bottle of water. The breakfast was definitely disappointing. I requested a late check-out since my flight was at 7pm and was told it would be $40. I told them I would be leaving by 2:30pm and then was told $20-I felt that charge could’ve been excused for an Exp Gold member and since the construction from next door woke me up two days. I would not stay here again.

This is a pretty property & staff is great. We arrived after the pool was closed & the young man at the desk turned on the lights for us to have a quick swim which was beautiful! Roof top pool all lit up, it was a lovely end to a stressful day. It was quite noisy until about 1:30am and then all was quiet. Room was simple but clean & nicely decorated with a huge balcony & rainhead shower

Overall, the stay was great. We missed a few amenities like the hammock and no true bar or restaurant as advertised.

The only good thing about this place is that it's conveniently located in downtown. The service and the facility in itself was terrible. First of all, there was no phone in the room to request for any service. We had to go down at the reception desk everytime we needed something which was always empty cuz they were always away from the desk. Our room had no fsce towels and when asked for some, the lady at the reception was hesitant in providing as if we were going to steal them from her. On our 3rd night, we requested bath towels because they didnt replenish our rooms when they cleaned it and it took her hours to bring them over to our room. The room showed a hammock on the balcony but when i asked them for it, they said it was getting washed for the season? The furniture on the balcony had a flimsy chair and a plastic table. We were 2 in the room so only 1 of us was able to sit on the balcony. Everything was rusty. The mirror and walls were dirty. The room was always humid. The bed was uncomfortable. The pool "bar" on the rooftop was not in service. I dont think it ever was. Oh and to top it all off, they randomly turned off the water without warning so we had to go down to the reception desk to ask them to turn it on manually everytime we needed to shower. I can keep going but all in all, I would definitely not recommend this place.

Superior Location and Outstanding front desk service with easy check-in. Classy and Chic. Perfectly situated to be 100 steps from 5th Ave yet unbelievably quiet in our room. The Best Sleep I've had in a month of staying in different hotels during our travels. Spacious room with a refrigerator and a complimentary bottle of wine. Fast elevators and underground parking were a bonus. The rooftop pool and lounging area was perfect with cool views, quiet and relaxing. We travel to Playa DC often and this will, no doubt, be our new "Go-To" hotel. If you've clicked on this, you're done looking. Reserve! You will not be disappointed!

Hotel location is ideal to explore Playa's ever growing areas. We stayed in the Master Suite - room size is excellent and the external Hot Tub a nice area to relax. We noted it was a special celebration and the staff did a great job on decorating the room for our special event. Initially, breakfast offer (continental) was very poor (as commented by others) - but on discussion with the Manager we agreed an upgrade - this was great and very healthy (served in Green & Fit) Hotel amenities are quite poor - Sky Bar should be renamed to Sky Terrace - as there is no Bar services and the whole upper deck area is falling into dis-repair and an underutilised space for the hotel. Pool appears to be maintained - but due to lack of facilities and particularly the poor state of the toilet/changing areas not used. Room amenities are very basic and limited to 2 coffees per day, 1 bottle of wine on arrival (for 2 persons this was not a luxury offering) - no other refreshments, or water given. Room service every other day. Cleaning staff are great and did a good job on the room, but public areas – particularly the toilets are not maintained. Front desk staff are disconnected from the guests and only respond when asked/ prompted for action. Overall, the hotel could be an excellent base in Playa, but without investment in the amenities – there offering of a bed & limited breakfast will cause them to decline further.
