Barceló Margaritas

Front office and services staffs can be more pleasant. Not sure if they understaff or tired . But they sometimes they not friendly. The guy who checked us in very nice but rest of stay, we don’t received friendly attitudes from the service nor front office staffs . The housekeeping lady so much helpful. The hotel are decent.

We stayed 10 nights half board as we like to go out on trips etc throughout the day. We had stayed here many years ago, but the complete refurbishment has really improved it. Very clean everywhere with friendly efficient staff and management. Our room 1009 had a lovely large open patio area which was quiet. The room was large, only criticism was lack of hanging space within the wardrobe it is wide enough but wasted space within. Free luxurious pool towels with no charge to exchange. Safe costs €3 per day. The bathroom is large with great toiletries. The bathroom towels are really fluffy. There is a Barcelo App which is useful, we checked in using it before we flew, booked an island trip with it and requested extra shower gel by using it, it's fast and easy to use. The food is definitely the best I've had in years in PDI. Compliments to the whole kitchen team, it's nice to see the fresh fruit etc. being prepared. Hot food served, hot. Almost everything I tried was good especially the homemade pizzas. There is an adult only naturist solarium on top floor, it could do with a revamp. The pools are new and very nice. I only went to the entertainment one night, not my bag. Close to bars, restaurants and shops and there is a courtesy bus to and from the beaches. Their is a really good Hiperdino Express shop straight opposite the hotel which is good for water, wines, snacks etc.. All in all we had the best time and we will hopefully return soon.

We have been staying at the Barcelo Margaritas since 2001. Around 15 visits. We absolutely love it and highly recommend it to anyone on the PDI Facebook pages looking for a good hotel. The hotel has always been immaculately clean and tidy, the rooms cleaned every day to an amazingly high standard. We find all the staff amazingly friendly and helpful. Nothing has ever been to much trouble. The food is superb, and the choice at every meal is incredible. We only go half board as we're out everyday and like to eat wherever we end up on the island at lunch time. However last year due to torrential rain all day one day we bought a lunch which was very easy to do.

Overall our holiday was good but a few let downs.. - Race for sun beds, if you are not down before 9am then you won’t get a bed. - evening entertainment is shocking, the entertainers seemed nice enough but it all seemed unorganised and like no one knew what they was doing... they love a Kahoot quiz. - If you’re wearing a half board wristband be prepared to be ignored by the bar staff for as long as they can, too much like hard work for them it seems. - Water was not replenished at all in our room after the first day, once all the bars are shut you have no way of getting water. Make sure to buy bottled water from the shop. - Can’t really complain about the food, we always found something we liked to eat, just wish there was a little bit more choice of meats. We did have to raise a complaint, as we were denied service at the breeze bar at 2:30pm (food closed at 4pm), all we wanted was 5 potions of chips and was told to pay for the AI lunch for 15 euros each.. this was raised to managers which “resolved it” by offering us lunch for the rest of our stay, the next day was our last. On our last day we asked reception if we needed to take anything to prove we are entitled to lunch and they said nothing had been noted and we weren’t entitled to lunch. So managment lied and quite frankly we was over the situation and went to Burger King instead. - Yumbo Centre is about 5 minutes walk away, which has some great shops, bars & drag shows. - Shuttle bus to and from Playa Del Inglés & Maspalomas Beach (Download app for times)

We had such a fabulous time - the kids club with Oriana and Marianna was brilliant - our 3 year old was included in everything and we will come home with so many great crafts. All the entertainers made such an effort with us. Thank you to Maria and the rest of the staff you made it special.

Everything was perfect (hotel, rooms, pools, food) and animators have lots of energy, good vibes. We had a great time. The activities are great and for everyone (water-polo, aqua-dance, aqua-sport. ...). The hotel is near everything, close to the dunes

Room and Facilities - We had a lovely first-floor room that included a terrace with sun loungers and direct access to a sun terrace (which is a lovely spot for pictures) with Bali beds. The Bali beds were a fun experience, though the windy conditions made the curtains quite unruly. It was still a novelty to try out for a day. I was really impressed with all the provisions in the room. Toothbrushes, toothpaste, shaving kit, shoe polish, sewing kit, Shampoo and Conditioner. You have to pay to use the safe, but this wasn't too expensive and provides us with some peace of mind. I found the wardrobe was a little small (especially for two girls) but everything still fit.Huge television (which did have English channels if that is a concern for anyone!) Great number of plug sockets - particularly the fact that there was one on each side of bed. As well as a USB and USB-C port on each bedside - major pro for easy charging! Dining Experience - Breakfast at the resort was the highlight of our meals, offering a wide variety of options. However, lunch was a disappointment, being repetitive and too similar to dinner. Dinner improved towards the end of our stay with themed nights such as DIY gyros and quesadillas, which added much-needed variety. The snack bar during lunch was more to our liking, despite a single incident with a burger that had something blue melted onto it (pictured). One major issue was the lack of proper utensils at the buffet. It was frustrating to use tongs covered in curry etc for different items, and better organisation in this area is needed. Staff and Entertainment - The staff were generally friendly and helpful, with the entertainment team being particularly noteworthy. We enjoyed the aqua dance in the pool and winning a bottle of Cava at the music quiz. The upper pool was our preferred spot, although this pool was colder. Finding sunbeds was easy, even when arriving later in the morning, and we were impressed by the number of umbrellas available. Cleanliness and Overall Maintenance - The hotel’s cleanliness was impeccable throughout our stay, from our room to the pool and public areas. Communication and Understanding of Amenities - One area that could use improvement is the communication regarding the all-inclusive amenities. Watching other guests helped us figure things out, but clearer instructions would have been appreciated. Separately, we were concerned about the "royal level" areas before arriving but found that these are very separate and did not impact our experience at all. Location and Shuttle Services - The location was ideal for us, away from the main tourist areas but just a 15-minute walk to the Yumbo Centre. The daily shuttle service to Playa del Ingles and Maspalomas beaches was a great convenience, though more frequent trips would be beneficial. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and were sad to leave. With some minor improvements, this resort could easily earn a perfect rating.

We’re currently on our last day staying here and all I can say is wow! We were staying for my birthday and when booking said we were here for an occasion - on arrival we were welcomed by a bottle of cava and cake! All of our preferences were listened to and we ended up on the top floor overlooking the pools with a fantastic view. On top of this, on my actual birthday we returned to the room to another bottle of cava and cake with a lovely message wishing myself a happy birthday. We stayed all inclusive (not royal level) and upon reading the reviews were a little apprehensive regarding the royal level vs all inclusive divide. Honestly, we couldn’t even tell the royal level existed. There are two pools both with bars that are relatively quiet all day and have constant sunlight on them. Two kids pools and a play area for the children too. Both bars open until midnight with a variety of drinks. Self serve beer, soft drinks, hot drinks and slushies at both bars for AI and a range of wines and cocktails from the bar. Although the alcohol list is limited for AI vs Royal level we really didn’t struggle with drinks choices. Entertainment is okay, finishes around 10pm every night but the bars are open until midnight so it’s easy enough to make your own entertainment. Plenty on for the kids. There’s pool tables, table tennis, air hockey and a little arcade as well! Food: As a very fussy eater I’m always apprehensive with AI food. Breakfast is incredible - fry up selection every morning, freshly made omelettes, freshly made crepes, pastries, fruit, meats, cheese - everything you could want! along side a huge variety of fresh juices and freshly made smoothies. Lunch is okay - freshly made pizza and paella available everyday alongside a pasta selection with changing sauces. Salad bar, fruit, desserts, cheeses etc. Always had chips on for offer and something pork/beef, but did find a lot was fish based. However, I still didn’t struggle to find something and there was plenty of bread to make sandwiches etc. Dinner - had its standard paella, pizza, salad and pasta the same as lunch and then the main changes every evening. Again, although I am fussy I did always find something. Although I don’t have children, it’s worth noting that if your child is a “chicken nugget lover” safe to speak, these were only available on one night we stayed - most fussy kid friendly food was chips, pizza, pasta etc. Location - we saw a few reviews moaning about the location. It was around a 25 minute walk to the beach, 30 to the dunes, 10-15 to the yumbo centre (highly recommend) so we didn’t find it bad at all. Plenty of shops and supermarkets near by also. A few buses are available and all information regarding those is given to you upon check in. Cleanliness/Room - Our room was incredible, no complaints on the cleanliness front.
