Poggio a Poppi

I stayed here with my extended family taking up the entire villa for a nearby wedding. Every room I saw was unique, charming, and comfortable. I was in the Dante room and had plenty of space, a large bathroom, oversized shower, and a balcony with incredible views. My sister upstairs in the Adam and Eve room had a fully equipped kitchen also with a large balcony, two bedrooms, and a living room with a large pullout sofa. Each room was beautifully decorated. I especially liked the bedding. My only criticism is that my room was a bit dark. Mauro, our host took good care of us. Anything was possible, breakfast for ten more from the wedding was no problem! He let us use whatever we needed from his kitchen, glasses, bowls, etc. for our lunches by the pool. He was very generous with everything, including his delicious food. The wedding welcome party was held here and it was fabulous. He made dinner for 24 of us in his courtyard with fabulous sunset views of the castle. Mauro treated us like family. Poggio a Poppi is off the beaten track, just like the town of Poppi, but if you want a relaxing spot, good food, tranquility, with train access to other areas, stay here

Mauro & Johanna are friendly and welcoming hosts. They are a good combination: Italian/German - local down to earth flavour with some efficient running order. The farmhouse is perched on a hill, a kilometre and half from Poppi castle, with beautiful views. It's calm, rooms are pretty and well furnished & maintained, surrounded by winery and Tuscan villages. The food is exquisite - we ate every night at their place when it was possible. Mauro and Johanna are hands on, they make every meal using local produce, at their best. They even gave us some own-grown garlic (thanks Mauro, it was so delicious) and sun-dried tomatoes when they saw that we were stocking our car with red onions and garlic on the way back. Definitely highly recommended! ps. for the foodies, they grow truffles in the area!

My son and his wife got married in Poppi this past May. We had the great fortune to book our stay at Poggio a Poppi in Poppi Italy. Mauro and Johanna were able to reserve the entire villa for family members and I was able to host a fabulous welcome party on the property. The communication prior to arrival was consistent and stress free. Upon arrival, we met Leo and Mauro and they met all our needs with genuine warmth and enthusiasm. Mauro and staff created delicious, abundant meals upon request. At breakfast, guests were greeted by Antonio and he made sure the morning coffee and cappuccino were served timely and always with a smile. The breakfast exceeded all expectations. While the online pictures are beautiful, in person every room décor and setting is truly breathtaking. Mauro and Leo are extremely flexible and so much fun to work with. Our stay at Poggio a Poppi enhanced our joyful occasion because of the exceptional hospitality of Mauro and Leo and their staff. Mille Grazie!! DeeDee Hawxhurst

My wife and I have been very fortunate over the past 50 years to travel to some wonderful places. From Presidential suites to a one bedroom cabin just heated with a fireplace. For the past 15 years we have been traveling to Italy, every year except for Covid of course. From the gorgeous Belmond Caruso in Ravello to Poggio a Poppi in Tuscany. If you are fortunate enough to be in the Poppi area you must stay at this simple but unbelievable Agriturismo. It’s the simple pleasures of fresh eggs, homemade pasta, with, truffles, sausage and cream . House wine. Just picked strawberries with mascarpone cream. This is Italy at its finest. Mauro,Antonio and Leo are the perfect hosts.

Unser Aufenthalt war trotz des Regenwetters vollkommen gelungen. Die geräumigen Zimmer sind alle sehr geschmackvoll und individuell eingerichtet. Mauro hat uns wunderbar bekocht und mit seiner unkomplizierten und witzigen Art willkommen geheißen. Das Agriturismo liegt in einer tollen Landschaft, wo sich auch kulturell sehr viel entdecken lässt. Auch hierfür hat Mauro uns zahlreiche Tipps gegeben. Siamo stati in questa location i n 21 persone tra adulti e bambini, dal 30 dicembre 24 al 2 gennaio 25. Siamo stati benissimo, la location è eccellente e la cortesia del gestore e del suo staff è stata incomiabile. Cercheremo di ritornare per visitare tutti i bei luoghi che sono nelle vicinanze.
