Small rooms, but with all the modern attributes. Lots of written instructions for how to use everything. There are six guest rooms. If the other guests are quiet, you'll have a quiet stay. It's an old structure, so if you have loud talkers or folks who crank up their TV, it will be noisy. The atmosphere is casual and historical. Cluttered, but comfortable. No air conditioning, but multiple fans. Breakfast is 'Continental'. She offered us waffles which is the one cooked option. They were excellent.

First of all, what an amazing and helpful person that Jan, the business owner, was to get this place for me at all...Its a busy summer here in Portola, already, along with the big Music fest over the 4th of July, but the fact she accommodated, hosted and helped me out, I will never forget...Jean another sweet lady, checked me in and I stayed for 6 nights... Secondly, this is a bed and breakfast and that was all I was looking for:) I would recommend another place if your not keen on small/quaint/homey quarters....The bed was perfect, the private bathroom was just right and even has a TV. I enjoyed the breakfast and how Jan spoiled me and told stories and was very charming....I did grow up in a big city so the occasional train whistle or locals having a good time did not bother me....The next time I'm in Portola will keep my big truck at home and give me more space to park hehehe... I am a big fan of the owner, the accommodations and the town....Thanks again Jan and until the next time, take care!!!
