Finch Bay Galapagos Hotel

Small rooms with thin walls so you can hear the noises from rooms next to you during the night. Nice pool but full of kids. I came here because they had a gym, which was nice but busy. Also hotel is hard to get to. It’s ok, but would go to other good alternatives our friends stayed at like Blu Galapagos or Angermeyer if I was looking again (even if they are cheaper we thought they were better)

The restaurant service is one of the best experiences I’ve had in my whole life. The food is amazing, cocktails are in their own league and the service is top tier!

A group of friends of mine and I arrived Thursday, June 19 and departed the following Sunday. We were treated like royalty and the euphoria suites were wonderful. Cesar was one of the best service people I’ve met. Constantly informing us of specials and drinks that we should try. He made the trip wonderful

We stayed at Finch Bay Galapagos for 7 nights/8 days at the end of October 2025 and went on 4 all day excursions to various islands. The hotel is terrific...the food was varied and excellent, the spa and gym are first class, the staff is responsive and friendly. All told, it's hard to imagine how it could have been better. The only thing to be aware of is that when you visit the Galapagos, the threshold decision is whether to stay on a boat or to stay in a hotel. Each has its advantages...the most obvious being that the boat can go further and therefore you can see more animals. But you're stuck on the boat. So once you make that call, and if you decide to stay on land, we highly recommend the Finch Bay Hotel. Not only that, but they have a booking service that allows one-stop shopping. In our case, Melissa Altamirano at Metro Journeys booked all of our transfers, guides, excursions etc. so we just had to show up and enjoy them. It really simplified the experience. The only thing to be aware of though is that in order to get to the various islands from Finch Bay, you need to take a bus and/or a boat and that can be a little tedious. On our last day, to Bartholome Island, we took a bus for the better part of an hour and then a boat for almost two hours to get there and the same amount of time on the return. It was worth it...snorkeling with the sharks, sea lions, sea turtles, penguins and lots of types of colourful fish...but it was a long day so be ready for it.

This place is nice. We did a package deal with the owning company for Mashpi, Finch Bay, and Casa Gangotena. While Mashpi is a magical place, Finch Bay has similar service but it isn’t quite magical. The facilities at Finch are nice, the food tasty, the staff attentive, but it doesn’t quite come all together somehow like at Mashpi. A lot of the guests just sit by the pool (hello, it’s the Galapagos). The area around the hotel and on the island isn’t very interesting. The kayak trip was not interesting and snorkeling Tortuga and Las Grietas not too great (near the hotel). The best part of staying here are the day trips on the yacht. That is where you get the typical Galapagos experience. I would recommend taking the yacht everyday you’re here. We really liked our trips to Bartolome and North Seymour. The food on the ship was good, the guides good, the ship very nice (with starlink). The only thing we didn’t like about the yacht was the bus trips to and from the yacht which were long and we sort of felt like rushed cattle. If you don’t get sea sick, consider a Galapagos cruise with this company instead of Finch. However, overall this place is still quite nice. The service from the company getting us from Quito to the Galapagos and back was very good.
