Hotel Deja Vu

Our room (18) was quite spacious and the AC worked well and felt great after a day in the heat and humidity! Be aware there are stairs and no elevator to the upper level rooms. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is served, not buffet, and was quite filling. Location is about a 10 minute walk from the main pier, and there are lots of restaurants and shops along the way. The hotel is very close to the Charles Darwin Research Station that’s worth visiting to see the giant tortoise nursery and learning more about these amazing creatures. Also very close to public beaches, though we preferred the pool at the hotel. A good stay for us! We would return.

We loved our stay at fhe Deja Vu Hotel in Santa Cruz, Galapagos. The staff was wonderful. Breakfast was great. They arranged transportation for us. It is a short walk to restaurants and shops, yet in a quiet neighborhood.

Not a bad hotel - just not a particularly good one either! The location is reasonable - and easy walk to shopping, restaurants, waterfront, etc. Maybe 15 mins to the main harbour. Puerto Ayora is a bustling little town with a nice atmosphere, despite all the tourists. The pool looked rather nice. Staff were friendly. There's free filter water in reception. Stopped 4 nights in total, spread out over 2 visits. Was first offered Room 1 - which reminded me so much of a dungeon, that I had to ask to move. My other rooms were on the 3rd floor and so much better - more spacious, cleaner, with windows and a view. There's no lift and the stairs are a bit uneven, so mind how you go. The upstairs rooms had comfy beds, aircon, safe & hairdryer, some have balconies, warm shower. No kettle. Room 14 had an intermittent rumbling/buzzing noise - I think I worked it out to be every time someone else ran a tap or flushed a toilet. Or it could have been someone else's aircon. I used earplugs!

We stayed her for 2 nights on Santa Cruz. Nice rooms, packed breakfast was good and staff were very helpful. There was free water and it is within walking distance to town. We ate at the Galapagos deli while there (10 minute walk) and it was very good too!

All our interactions with the staff were pleasent however this hotel has some issues it needs to address. The hot water faucet in the shower is set so that even a turn of 1/2 inch can make it go from cold to scalding with nothing in between. It is not safe for children or the elderly. The fridge hadn't been cleaned and smelled very bad. There is no way we would have actually put food in it. The heating and air conditioning unit was not calibrated properly so the settings we put it on were not the ones it ran at. There was also a weird whining sound. There is little sound proofing so we could clearly hear the people in the room above us. The bed was comfortable and breakfast was decent.

Room had no Wi-Fi, no hot water and a broken hairdryer. Other people in my group had weak Wi-Fi but no other issues. Staff was not helpful

This Hotel is not as expected. It really needs an upgrade. The general maintenance is bad. The staff are not service minded, seems lazy and as if they do not care. The pool is not kept clean during the day, we had to clean it our selves. It is not possible to order food during the day, there is only breakfast. If you want drinks/coktails ore anything during the day, you have to walk into town.

Full of flies If you are an entomologist this is the place for you. You can see flies, beetles and roaches and thats just in your room. The room was absolutely disgusting full of flies and ownership didnt want to do anything about it or do anytiing about my bill other then offering me bottle of cheap wine. Find somewhere else
