Coral Level at Iberostar Selection Holguín

Just got back from a wonderful vacation at Iberostar Coral Holguín. Highly recommend this resort for adults only. The rooms are beautiful and very clean. We were lucky to get a room with an outdoor shower and thoroughly enjoyed bathing in the warm sunshine and under the stars at night. A definite must try if available. The maids and mini bar staff are attentive and will bend over backwards to help make you happy. Our maid Dayne was especially friendly and made cute animals out of our bedding each day. Our butlers Yarin and Augusto checked in with us daily and took care of all our needs and requests. The wait staff are second to none and quite a few of them exceeded expectations. In the morning our favourite waitress Maria always remembered our drink orders and the fact that I liked a glass of ice on the side for my chocolate milk. She always greeted us with a smile and made the start to our day special. Janisbella and Yasmine were also phenomenal and we shared many laughs and jokes during our meals. Jacqueline at the front desk became a fast friend who always went out of her way for us with our many questions and requests. My friend and I had the pleasure of getting a massage from Jamelia and Rogerio and it was the best 90 minutes I have ever spent. We also had an absolute blast with some of the bar staff. Alexander, Julio, Hector, William and the very beautiful Dayana were super fun, attentive and personable and made great tasting drinks. Even the lifeguard (her name eludes me) was great. I had many interesting conversations with her about her competitions and training. Lovely woman! Last but certainly not least was Carlos, the entertainment coordinator. Carlos is the most genuine, kind hearted, fun loving, hard working man I have ever met. We spent many hours with Carlos each day playing volleyball, football, doing aqua fit, dancing and just having a great time. Carlos is a huge asset to Iberostar and should be commended on his dedication to providing the guests with a wonderful experience. Iberostar is a wonderful, relaxing, fun resort with exceptional staff and I highly recommend staying there!

Here is my honest review. You can take it or leave it. Resort is not on the beach. They have a little manmade mish mash on the property, but it small and smells. The real beach is about a 10 minute walk away (or you can be driven over). For people who just want a pool it may be fine but for ocean lovers, nope. I have a pool in my back yard so I travel for the beaches. Food and service were what I would expect from Cuba. We certainly did not go hungry. The bottled water is horrible. Ibeorstar has gone "green" and therefore does not provide bottled water. Instead they bottle their own water. It smells and tastes terrible so if you are a big water drinker I would recommend you bring lots from home. I would not recommend this resort. I think that there are many others in Cuba that are far better.

Had a great time, no complaints. The staff are excellent, especially Alex/Dayana at the pool bar. Carlos is fantastic. He manages to entertain us all day even though he didn’t have his guitar any more. Would be nice if there was music at the pool bar in the afternoons again. Resort is clean, food is great and lots of room to relax, with no lineups.

Great place to relax and enjoy the sunshine. The pool bar staff, Dayana. Alexander and William are amazing. The entertainer Carlos was fantastic. Very friendly and we played volleyball, football, aqua fitness and some dance lessons. He worked hard to get people involved with no music. The receptionist Yaquelin was very helpful and booked all my massages with Rogelio who was amazing. All the staff go above and beyond and services was amazing. Will for sure return!

First the positive! Fantastic staff on this resort! Food on the Coral side is excellent. No shortages! It's a beautiful area as well and very safe on and off resort. Check out La Finquita Alegre nearby. Contact them on FB and they will arrange a horse and buggy to get there. Bar staff, wait staff and coffee bar staff are second to none! Rooms are clean, well kept and good AC. Beach areas are very nice. Choose from the shallow side closeby or head across to the Pesquero beach by car or a short walk. There is a small bar there as well. Most butlers are fantastic and bend over backwards to help. We left early on the last day and Junior had breakfast arranged for us. Now a few negative. This was our 6th trip to this resort and there is very little loyalty rewards. There is a return cocktail party. We asked for a bottle of rum in our room and were told they had none by our butler, Augusto. We were married there a year ago and nothing for loyalty. Augusto said our group asked for too much. A bottle of rum was all I asked for. On a conservative estimate between us and our friends that were there, we brought well over $100k to the resort. This last trip we had 15 people in our party. Second negative was our butler, Augusto. If he is your butler when you get there, ask for someone else! 6 of our guests left on Friday so my wife booked the Japanese for Thursday night before they left through Augusto. She changed the number of people on Tuesday and Augusto wrote it down. We show up Thursday for the reservation and we're told the reso wasn't changed and we couldn't fit in. I was a little steamed and told Augusto so. In the past he has done everything to avoid us and we did inform the last resort manager but he's still there! The main negative this trip was the drinking water. In all trips past, the water has been excellent in our room. This year the taste was horrible and we had to try and find bottled water to purchase. I have informed the hotel and they say they're working on it. I hope so or we won't be back for our 7th trip there. All in all a few negatives and if the drinking water is restored we would definitely go back!

Iberostar Coral Holguin is a beautiful resort overall. Butler service Laritza and Junior are wonderful and took care of any issues we had. All staff at Coral did an awesome job. Special thanks to Juan Carlos and Carlos for all the fun times by the pool. Things not to do when travelling to Cuba. Ensure you don't bring a E-Cigarette or Vape as it may get taken at airport in Cuba. Bring bills for tipping and make sure they are not taped. Staff can not change coins and taped bills at bank. PROS Best Massage ever by Rogelio Butler service Very clean with maid service 2 times a day beautiful rooms (we had the Jr suite) Coral Restaurant lobster every night (yummy) Gourmet restaurant had great food Breakfast and Lunch always fresh at Coral Desserts were very tasty CONS Drinking water provided was really bad tasted like chemicals and had a really bad taste. This is a key issue and Management must get proper bottled water before anyone has a bad reaction. Beach was a little far but walkable or by cart provided regularly. No Coral section on beach which should be addressed by management. 1 hour from airport. Mediterranean restaurant slow service and not that friendly. Japanese restaurant was not true teppanyaki as everything was pre cut and show was boarding.

We loved it here. We had ALOT of fun playing pool volleyball with Carlos. Big thanks for Arnan (probably misspelt his name). The butler team also took excellent care of us. Very nice resort overall. The drinks were good, the food was good, the rooms are nice and clean can't ask for more. We look forward to coming back soon!

This was our 4th time to this resort. We went over New Years and had a blast ringing in the New Year with everyone. Of course Laritza and Junior gave exceptional service (checking in on us each day to see if we needed anything). Guest services always greeted us with a smile and helped us with anything we needed. Staff in the Coral restaurant were exceptional. Very pleasant and quick service. Rooms are large and always clean. I like that there are bar fridges in the room, and quick easy access to the pool side via the patio doors. Spent, most of our time on the dry side of the swim up bar as it poured the last 4 days we were there. We did not let that dampen our spirits. Dayana and Alex took excellent care of us the entire time we were there, and we enjoyed spending time with them when it was raining. Thank goodness for Carlos. He danced in the rain the entire 4 days entertaining us (check out his moves when you are there), sang to us and made us laugh. We thank all staff for the excellent service (Hector and Osmel for ringing in the New Year at the Coral bar), and can’t wait to see everyone again.

Acabamos de pasar unos dias muy agradables y estamos bastante satisfechos con nuestra experiencia en este hotel . Fue a ultima hora cuando decidimos ir y no nos arrepentimos ya que todo fue maravilloso . No solo es la belleza del lugar ,la deliciosa comida o las hermosas habitaciones Lo que mas nos gusto , sino la amabilidad y el carisma del personal del mismo.
