My girlfriend and I were looking for a place to stay in Ranong before sta My girlfriend and I were looking for a place to stay in Ranong before starting the exploration of the islands. We found what we were looking for: a place immersed in nature. Although quite troublesome to reach as you need to find a local taxi to drive you there and nobody speaks English (there is no Grab available), I’d say it was worth the effort. The treehouse is kept in a pristine state and is free from insects inside, although immersed totally in the rainforest. They serve delicious food in the kitchen, and you got the breakfast included in the booking served directly at your hut in the morning. There is the chance to have a bath in one hot spring, the owner recently discovered, although quite pricey (there are cheaper/free in the nearby area). Our hut was quite hot in the evening, but the presence of multiple fans relieved our feeling. The personnel is not that fluent in English, but they are very kind and smiley, and they will try to understand you. The owner, Anavin, comes every evening, and he is very gentle and speaks English perfectly. If you encounter him, you can have pleasant conversations. I must say this place is a hidden jewel, not on the primary touristic radars, that’s why interesting for a nature retreat. Wifi works perfectly, so recommended for work also. Worth to visit for a couple of nights before going to the nearby islands.

Das Resort übertraf unsere Erwartungen. Es ist ein bezauberndes Fleckchen Erde. Direkt an einem Flüsschen gelegen (der Wasserstand war gerade niedrig), sind die höchst unterschiedlichen Häuschen im Dschungel versteckt. Seit den letzten eingestellten Bildern ist es noch wesentlich mehr zugewachsen, so dass man manche Gebäude fast gar nicht mehr ganz sehen kann. Die Ausstattungen sind sicher sehr unterschiedlich. In unserem Haus kann man bestimmt nicht von einer einfachen Ausstattung sprechen. In der Anlage wurde auf jeden Fall die Liebe zum Detail ausgelebt. Das satte Grün, das einen umgibt und das Rauschen des Wassers machen diesen Ort zu etwas sehr besonderem. Auffällig ist, dass es hier offenbar nur sehr selten westliche Touristen hin verschlägt. Es sprechen nur sehr wenige englisch und auch die Speisekarten enthalten nicht die üblichen Gerichte. (Nicht einmal pad thai) Das Resort scheint vor allem bei jungen Thais sehr beliebt zu sein. Ein Café liegt im Zentrum (am Fluss). Dort kann man sehr schön sitzen. Die Küche ist allerdings nur bis 19.30 Uhr geöffnet.
