Caruso, A Belmond Hotel, Amalfi Coast

We stayed for three nights at the start of the season. Despite the cold weather the team ensured we had a fabulous stay. Too many good staff to name check them all but Antonietta and Nicole on the front desk , were both excellent. Luis elevated a simple room service meal to fine dining fun. Breakfasts great.

A fantastic Hotel with wonderful service the Main Restaurant fantastic a must visit. Only criticism, was the slow Coffee & Tea delivery at breakfast. Concierge were great room superb. With a view of the sea from the large balcony. Breakfast buffet excellent.

We had the absolute pleasure of staying at the Caruso last year to celebrate a milestone birthday and loved it so much we came back to Ravello to visit again! You will be first fall in love with the beauty of the property and the view of the mountains into the sea, but what will capture your heart is the graciousness of the staff at Caruso. They are the heart and soul of the property! Rossella at the boutique is truly one of the most special people- she has a gift of making you feel welcome in a new place and that you have met a new friend forever. When it is time for apertivo (with the view you will never forget), the bar manager, Tommaso and his colleague Carmine, will make sure you have an incredible cocktail made with fresh local ingredients. We were there at the end of white fig season and Carmine made us a special cocktail he had created to celebrate ! The attention to detail and sincere kindness of the people wanting you to have the best experience really shines. We cannot wait to come back. ❤️

This boat day was a birthday surprise, and it turned out to be one of the best days of my life. The Aprea was immaculate and felt brand new, but what truly made the experience unforgettable were our captains, Francesco and Antonio. They went above and beyond in every way — from taking beautiful photos for us, to showing us hidden coves and the most picturesque spots along the coast, to serving wine, champagne, and the most gorgeous plates of fresh fruit, cheeses, and prosciutto. They even brought us to a hidden gem, Maria Grazia, for an incredible seaside lunch that we’ll never forget. Francesco and Antonio were the perfect hosts: true gentlemen, thoughtful, kind, and so knowledgeable about the area. Their attention to detail and care made us feel like royalty. If you have the chance to book the Aprea, don’t hesitate. It was pure magic — the kind of day you dream about, and one I will treasure forever. (Note: This review is just for the boat experience. From the moment we arrived, we were blown away at the beauty of the hotel. No one does style and elegance like the Italians, and the Belmond epitomises this. The staff were friendly and attentive, and the room we were given was beautiful with an amazing view over the coast. However, we were directly next to the balcony in reception, so every morning when we were sitting outside, people were coming out onto this balcony from the reception, so there was very little privacy. On our first night, we ate at the Belvedere restaurant and had the fish tasting menu, which was delicious. The second night, we ate at the Grill and had a poor experience. We were seated in a corner and felt forgotten. After a long wait, we were asked what food we wanted even though no one had asked us if we wanted a drink. We ordered the tune tarta, which was swimming in a tasteless sauce. I then ordered a pizza, and this was one of the worst pizzas I have ever eaten. It was a wet, sloppy, and tasteless lump of dough. We reported this to the team, and the manager came over and apologised and did not charge us for the food we ate, which was the right thing to do. The next day, the head chef spoke to us and apologised. He asked us to try again, and we declined due to the previous nights experience. This was the last evening meal we had at the hotel. The swimming pool is simply stunning with the best view we have ever seen from a pool. Staff were attentive, and the food at the bar, including the lobster rolls, was delicious. The bar is a great place to enjoy an evening drink and again the staff were wonderful. The reception team and concierge could not do enough for us and always greeted us with a smile. They also recommended a great fish restaurant called Trattoria Lorenzo, which was superb and only a 15-minute drive away. At breakfast, there is a vast choice of cheeses, meats, cereals, yoghurts, fresh fruit, and hot dishes, and I have to say the scrambled eggs were the best I have ever eaten. Simple yet cooked and seasoned perfectly. The question is would we stay again at this hotel and the answer is a huge yes. Even though the Grill restaurant let us down and our rooms balcony lacked privacy, we couldn't fault anything else.
